Hi there,

I've got a question related to building engagement for an ad. Numerous companies are using developing countries to get ads engagement for lower costs and then reusing the ad to get traffic, etc. in their target market.

My question is the following: although the ad would have more social proof as it will have way more likes & shares, the ideas of having numerous Indian, Pakistanis, etc. displayed as people who engaged with the ad would not hurt the brand image and the perception people have of the company?

Secondly, wouldn't it have an effect on the audience per se when retargeting, as the pixel will track & retarget these people? And when creating audiences based on ad interactions, it'll be biased as well?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Well, I imagine you don't have to target the middle eastern countries if your brand isn't middle eastern. You could probably target the English speaking countries that are still cheaper to advertise to and get some success there.
