Build My Rank & LinkVana being Deindexed?

I have been reading a lot about Build My Rank & Link Vana becoming deindexed here lately. If this is true, then how is Google using a system to determine how websites and blogs are ranked? Will this be a slap in the face for the little guy, and none of us ever see page one again? What are some other White Hat ways of getting on page one besides these companies? I had always thought that this was a good way to do it. Someone please help.

What are we going to do for page rank now? Manually input links in? Geez!

Guess its time to go back to fiverr.... i will miss BMR for a long long time.. used it to rank over a dozen websites....

Those lazy SEO'ers whose sole strategy was relying on blog networks as a route to ranking their sites will suffer - and good riddance.
