So my buddy woke this morning to have his Ipad 2, Iphone 4, and xbox all stolen from douche who passed out on his couch (it was his roommates buddy). He filed a police report, and despite having the name of the guy, they can't really do anything since they have no proof he took the items. He posted this on reddit:
reddit.com/r/RBI/comments/zkcdx/ipad_2_iphone_4_and_xbox_360_stolen_while_i_was/

Just thought I'd throw it up here and see if anyone had any suggestions for him tracking this fool down. He has is FB account and sent him a polite message, offering to pay for full for the items returned (just in order to call the cops when he does meet up with him). But other than that, he is totally screwed. Suggestions?

Should've gone round with some buddies and fucked him up.

But seeing as he took the "beta" route of posting on Reddit, he can't do that now.

lmao. He doesn't have the dudes address, otherwise I am sure the "fucked him up" part would have happened by now!

You need 2 things before the police will do anything, have proof he has possession of your property and that you have proof it is yours, you will need receipts of the purchase.

Thats rubbish to hear, why can't your room mate sort out the mess?

Basically get his roommate to tell him where his buddy lives after which go over to where he lives and get the stuff back but if the dudes flogged it then theres nothing you can do

You can track your Iphone if someone steals it, send messages to it and delete all files on it same with Ipad.

lmao, with the guy's name and FB account, it's only a matter of time to get the address. Someone knows where he lives, no under a bridge, right?

He had all the locate your iphone apps, and when he realized everything was missing, he tried to look them up. But all of the apps have been turned off and the location devise is as well. So this person knew what they were doing.

The guy is a friend of a friend, of his roommate. Confusing? His roommate is trying to get a hold of the friend to see if he will help him out. Just sounds like it was a big ass mistake of letting someone pass out on your couch that you really didn't know.

He should Stand outside his house in one of these and im sure he'll have his stuff back in no time.. and if not.. well.. you know what to do

He doesn't sound clever in the first place. Roommates buddy? Shouldn't he have contact with him? Nevertheless I would never let some random guy sleep in my room...

if it has tracker then it would be easy to tell, that belongs to you or ask your mobile service provider to trace your phone using numbers and when it comes to ipad and xbox have purchase receipts with you

Maybe he should call apple support, they track you even if you turn everything off aslong as the mobile is on, they know where your iphone is for sure ;)

Should have bought the iProtect with the iCop guarantee.
