BTC fees are way too high now. Fees is almost double of the amount to send. Anyone tried using this lightning network via electrum?

Network Congestion on the Blockchain Competitively Raises Fees, That is why.

Ehh it's literally between $9 and $10 now.

How is that double of the amount to send?

Don't send $5 over BTC lol

No they're not.

If the fees are too high right now you're either sending too low amounts or you're using too many transactional inputs.

A $10 transfer could hypothetically cost $500 in fees at any point in time, given it has enough inputs. It's not entirely dependent on the network status.

I believe the OP was not aware Bitcoin would charge u that high regardless of how much you are sending.
I was desperate one time to buy an account, the guy insisted he wants BTC and that`s $10. I had to send $10 and sending fee from paxful cost me $8. I was mad...local bitcoin seem cheaper next time, but generally, BTC is helping scammers get away with stuff easily.

the day is over, BTC now for the Rich person.

bitcoin dead

BTC is the ultimate shitcoin lol

Will be interesting to see what will happen to Bitcoin if flippening happens. It could easily lose its role as a "store of value" and become useless.

I send $100-200 regularly, and I certainly don't pay anything close to $8 a transfer!

It doesn't matter am I new or not what matter is how BTC will be more valuable than say Ethereum if flippening happens.

BTC is the original blockchain but is now outdated. Yahoo was killed by Google.
Yahoo and Google are just applications on top of the internet. Bitcoin is the internet.

Every other coin will be gone in a decade, just like the dotcom bubble. The internet will stay.
Even pre-mined, centralized Ethereum with a failing proof of stake.

always is and always has been expensive.

Just use LTC to pay things

Exactly this. It's easy to do an internal exchange BTC to LTC, make the payment (or the transfer if you are moving coins between exchanges) and then if necessary, exchange from LTC back to BTC at the other end. I have done this recently and it reduced the transfer cost significantly.

No, it's not.

BTC is just a first mover. There are many better blockchains already.

BTC is slow expensive and doesn't have smart contracts. When it comes to centralisation, more than 90% of BTC miners are in China.
