BST owners STOP doing this NOW

Most cheap hosting plans offer email. If your service is at acme.com getting [email protected] is basically free.

There is simply no valid excuse for using free emails. If you do you're being unprofessional, you're risking your customers' precious business, you're giving a monopolistic and abusive company all the tools they need to destroy all your hard work.

This topic has 100's of threads already, the sellers are aware of this but most of them don't care.
I agree that they should not use gmail for delivering reports. But you can ask them kindly to not send the report via gmail and they usually use hotmail which is OK with me.

So OP I recoment you always point out to the seller you don't want your report delivered via gmail and you'll be ok.

Really man, did you understand why the OP is upset about?
Its about the sellers using gmail for delivering reorts and other seo sensitive info, that Google can use to spank your ass.

Tell them "to guarantee the integrity of our network AND FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY we don't send reports to X email provider". Anyone who values their rankings will understand.

I never buy from any BST's that use free email expressly in their sales copy. There was an interesting new BST recently, I really wanted to buy, but the stupid guy was using a famous snitch email service....sorry mate, you never saw my money. The problem here was the contact form. I filled it not knowing where the message would go, then it comes back from the stinking snitch email system.

They not work , most of their ips are banned by email provider like yahoo , gmail and what can a seller do if buyer adds a gmail address in forum ?
you just need to switch to other free email providers like yandex , hotmail , yahoo , mail there are tons of email providers.

Tell them you do not send reports to any free emails.

About them being blocked, there are plenty of cheap email providers that are NOT blocked. I personally don't use ANY free emails.

Their IP won't be blacklisted by yahoo/gmail/outlook even if they send 100+ emails per day and if they're capable of beating Google's algorithm and rank a site, they should be easily able to figure out the way to inbox emails. Its not a rocket science really.

If the buyers use free email, sellers can compress the report in a password protected .zip file and PM the password to the Buyer's BHW account.

Yes, I don't how but my unpublished and private mails are spammed since I'm member on BHW and I'm buying services.
 
Top tip for anyone buying a service around here. Register a throwaway email address. (outlook is good if you dont have your own hosting)only use that email address for buying stuff and nothing else.

Ive had to delete two email accounts because I was receiving huge amounts of spam.

I am constantly amazed when I see service providers either missing, ignoring or not understanding something this fundamental.

There's a new one gone up in the last day offering full reports in google docs.

For me it goes deeper than this being a dangerous practice...

... if someone doesn't understand something so obvious, forget the reporting dangers - how can the service itself be trusted?

Since they're selling linkjuices, maybe its because a lot of juices can be sucked only on a Virgin? :D

Unless you're doing some really questionable stuff, I would not be so worried. Google cannot legally go though your e-mails and docs unless there's national security at risk. Do you know how much shit they would get into for reading people's stuff? Only the US government can do that! :)

But honestly, you've made me paranoid now!

Legally it would be much easier for them to just purchase your services and get the links directly, the liability for them illegally snooping through your emails is huge.

I use the big guys for my emails, simply to hide my server IP, because even with cloudflare it can be found.
 
I highly doubt that your links through gmail are effecting your ranking. Did some research and found the following quotes.

Matt Cutts, has stepped in and cleared up the confusion. Google doesn?t take your domain?s email trustworthiness in Gmail?s spam filtering system into account when ranking your site

It?s likely that Google doesn?t draw on its Gmail spam filtering database because of the ease with which competitors could damage each other?s search rankings by gaming the system ? but it does make you wonder: what would a world where our email marketing activities affected our search rankings look like?

Unfortunately, that's absolutely not true.

It's their servers, their bandwidth, their software and all your emails in that mailbox belong to them. The mail in there is NOT protected by the mail tampering laws.

WAKE UP FOLKS. People still believe free email boxes are somehow protected by communications tampering laws! That is so naive it hurts.

They are NOT illegally snooping. Your emails belong to them, it's their servers, their money, their bandwidth, their software and you get to use it "for free".

I guess this is why people still use these emails, you believe you have ANY legal protection while using them. You do NOT.

IMO, it would be foolish to believe that Google wasn't doing this already, they have shown time and time again that the only time they are concerned with privacy laws is when somebody has taken them to court.
