Stu - thanks for the great posts and thread. Great reality check.

Every time I read the "Latest and Greatest" product promo I think of this thread.

Obsessive? I think not. In fact I've taken all the content from this thread, rewritten it, made a video and audio and sell it for $97.

Thanks, but this isn't BS. :) These are serious tips used by the pros. Particularly the steps taken from Influence the book. Those are very important motivators. Keep up the good work.
 
Just came across this post. I find it interesting that the post was written in 2008 but it is still spot on relavent today. Great post! Should be MUST reading for all newbies.
 
If there was a single reason that I joined WHW above all else (apart from finding out about Linkpushing) - it would be this article. Brilliantly written, enjoyable - I read the whole lot in one go.

Here's just about as pure a BS system for content creation as you can find. This little system presumes that you have some long-tail keywords you want to use in content, but you don't really need to inform the reader of anything. You just need BS for spiders.

1. Go to the Postmodernism Generator here:

2. You can either accept the article that is up, or simply refresh the page for a new article. This program creates an infinite supply of postmodern-sounding BS. Each time you refresh the page, you get another 100% unique article.

3. Eliminate the author and whatever footnotes and text you do not need.

4. Make a more keyword-oriented title.

5. Change the text by salting in your long-tail keyword, removing sentences that are too much like nonsense, and rewriting whatever you feel needs it.

6. You are done.

You now have a scholarly-sounding article that is 100% unique and 100% pure BS.

Now you can add this BS content to an Adsense site (pages and pages of it), or use a BS alias that has an account at AC and submit it for pay. Or submit it to article directories for backlinks.

With a little practice, you can pump ton loads of this BS out in a short amount of time. Don't expect anyone to read it, though. This is spider-food, not people-food.

The good news is that it is BS, pure unadulterated BS, unique BS with good grammar/syntax, BS with a beginning, middle and end. It is not spam, thus the spiders will never know...

I ran it on my friend Wiz to see what would happen. Here's what I got.

Write the number backwards, subtract 1666 - the 
year of the Great London Fire. The value is now 199.

Multiply the value by 2 - the symbol of duality.

Multiply it by 31 - this is the symbol of bad luck, 
written backwards. This yields 12338.

Add 4991 to it - the year Jeffrey Dahmer died in prison, 
written backwards. The result is 17329.

Subtract 1976 - the year George Harrison performed the 
lumberjack song with Monty Python. This gives you 15353.

When you take 1986 - the year of the Chernobyl disaster - 
then write it backwards and convert it to octal, you arrive 
at the very same result.
If that ain't quality BS, I don't know what is...

Another very good way of Copy BS is using tweetgrid.com

Use the words your customers use.

BS on the fly!
