Very true.. People alot of people think they are smarter than others. Therefore "if stupid people can do it", "then I can do it much better"

Stumickel...thanks for the great read. One of the funniest, and yet sad but true, threads I've read in any forum in a long time.

"Nothing warms the heart (or has the ability to lighten a wallet) quicker than a nice heaping cup of grade A quality BS!"

--O. Winfrey

Thanks for the eye opener Stu, I'm a bit guilty of falling in love with my niche but I have very good reasons for it. :o

somebody read 'multiple streams of internet income':D

nice lengthy post with a lot of good marketing advice included.

Never sell shit as anything else. Otherwise you will be a shitter and nothing more. You must make good things grow with your life. If you do not sense that kind of self-value, I doubt you will sell anything well, even BS.

It you don't love roses, you will come across as a phony.

Stumickel thanks for your great post.. you are a deep one..

your post greatly influence me more than the guru shit out there..:D

maybe i try to paraphrase it simpler

U must at least have a tiny weeny bit of self esteem/self respect..
"you got to at least believe what you are selling
ie better quality shit or else

the sales result you get gonna reflect it
cos deep down inside of you are revolted by what u are selling

Here is another psychological trigger I got from reading Seth Godin.

People don't like to be wrong.

When you tell them a story, try to make it reinforce the message that they have been right all along. This works well with deep values like morals or whether God exists, but it also includes superficial ones like an opinion about so-and-so.

For marketing, one form where this trigger works well is to advertise something negative, deliver a positive message about it, make the audience feel it has been right all along, then hit them with the offer.

For instance, on a superficial level, if your target market believes that Obama is the best thing since sliced bread, advertise a position to them that he has some serious shortcoming. Then tell the tale ending up proving that the shortcoming was only an impression and the truth is that he is even stronger than thought. Any Obama supporter will feel he was right all along, despite being hooked into the tale by the doubting Obama headline. Now that he feels good and knows you are on his side, trust has been established and he is more likely to buy off of you, so hit him with it.

You can use this approach with any issue, not just politics. Obviously you have to target your market since there is no way to please everyone. But the people you get are well gotten.

After all, they were right all along, weren't they?

Stumickel compacted most of what is known of "BS". Great.

Interesting that those BS is used by school and army too. Pavlov way of life ^_^'

Another book that is Ok on that subject is
Lieberman, David - How to Get Anyone To Do Anything.
Cialdini, Robert - Influence

Any books on persuasion, mind control, psychology triggers, con man, that you particulary would like to recommend, Stumickel? Any other member, feel free to sugest material too!

excellent post, it seems I spent a huge amount of time reading this informatable information. I learned a thing or 2 from you and hope to use them in the near future :)

LOL! I love this post especially since it's all centered around the BS but does give alot of good advice as well.

I think you should become a sales copy writer your very very good at it!

lmao you guys are thinking too hard.
charts, graphs ...mindmaps?

come on, its not a difficult concept: find traffic, monetize traffic.

taky,

Everybody's gotta be a newbie the first time...

Just doin' the best I can...

(btw - I've tried hard at not thinking, but I can't get it to stop. It goes by itself...)

Very informational! I will read every bit of it in hopes of learning more! Thank you...thank you...thank you! ;)

Thanks to all the people who like this thing. I am glad you find value in it.

I want to go on record, though. I wrote this thing for me, not to teach people or create a following on a forum. I needed to understand what on earth I was getting myself into. (I do intend to lather it up into a product later, but that's another issue and one for my own turf.)

I fully understand what taky was getting at and he's right. Finding traffic and monetizing traffic is the backbone of Internet marketing. If you don't do that, then you are spinning wheels and going nowhere. It just seems to be easier for some than others.

The trouble is, in my case, starting over at 56 and not being very computer savvy. In fact, I was amused at seeing my flowchart called a mindmap. I never thought of it that way. I just put the thing together to establish some broad categories to help me sift through all the hype (or BS as you will) and separate it from the real information.

The other problem is that I have a writer's personality, not a gaming personality. I almost wish I were a gamer. Life would be simpler. But I cannot ignore what I am. When I try to game the system, I usually make a mess of it and I don't make money. My interest is making money.

You work with what you've got, not with what you think you should have.

The good news (for me, at least) is that the Internet is not one thing only and there is room for many kinds of people to make money in many kinds of ways. Finding traffic can mean all sorts of things since there are several major kinds of traffic. And there is traffic all around us with new kinds surging every day. (For instance, the newbie market for making money online is HUGE and growing exponentially everyday.) Finding traffic can even mean creating traffic or drawing it to yourself. That's what top bloggers do.

I am presently engaged in learning in depth how to find pockets of people who habitually buy what I am selling, then getting in front of them with my offer (seasoned with a bit of BS to attract attention). That approach fits my kind of personality better than a shotgun approach.

At least I know I get it right. There's no sense in BSing myself.

:-)
