I went through the basics when i was trying to find proper keywords for my sites and the anchor texts that I would be targeting. What i found is that Google Keyword tool can misguide if not used Properly!

A Simple example is the huge differences of the broad, exact and the phrase data and the differences of the volume when you are logged in and logged out .

So where to look and how to estimate how many potential visitors I will have?

Example : Niche = ?Make Money?

-"Make Money" (exact)
-"how to make money" ( phrase)
-"tools to make a big pile of money" (broad)
-"money and how to make them" (broad)

So what to choose?I suppose always look at the exact of course since it the approximate figure that shows how many people are searching this specific term per month. In other words, if you have ranked for this you will have that many impressions per month.

Logged in and Logged out!Why do they differ?

Google says that when you have logged out it shows the estimated traffic from the google network (searches from all local google pages etc). So I suppose that you should look at this figure instead of logging in since it takes into account your personal details and other characteristics that have to do with any potential adword campaign.

I am using Market Samurai so I think I have my problems solved!!

Market Samurai has as default the broad option so change it to exact if you want to see how many impressions you will have if you rank for this keyword.

Video from market samurai which describes the whole thing better than I do can be found here:

Thanks OP...........I have also started using market samurai too.........

-"Make Money" (exact)
-"how to make money" ( phrase)
-"tools to make a big pile of money" (broad)
-"money and how to make them" (broad)

Their all phrase...... the more words is just long tail phrases, anything in "KEYWORD" is phrase

i think :P
