Every once in a while I see a user here on BHW that complains about another person bringing dead threads up to the top of the forum by posting (usually is a noob) and from there more people add to the thread. Now where I am coming from I really don't see a reason to complain.

Even though its a dead thread there can be valuable information within even if its dated for example I just read a thread about a "Cash Tsunami" which was dated a year or two ago, I believe around 2009? Anyways I clicked the thread and read up on what the OP had to say and actually learned something from his "method".

Now I don't see why people complain so much about bringing up dead threads... Every day people say that technology advances every day and this is true and with these advances in technology the advances such as new sites / pingers / etc. can help produce better results within an old method.

Last off even if a noob has something to say which brings an old thread to the top of the list most of the time someone with a nice post count equally has something to say which helps the thread so it can keep advancing.

Sorry I kind of felt like ranting because knowledge is power and the complaints are just ignoring the knowledge because they hate seeing old threads and this ends up without a gain but a wasted post.

Most of the time the new threads are just to get their count to 15, so that is why. Besides, it is a year old, the topic is dead, why bring it back up?

yes, some are OK, but most are just dumb. Like someone asking for accounts, a year later someone posts that they have accounts. Just plain dumb, and it is ALWAYS a noob.

Alright so someone advertises that they have accounts available... someone on the forum is bound to need accounts and someone profits from the needs of others. So in the long run they both earn money - one from the client purchasing the account from the seller and the other from the client putting the method to use and banking upon new technology.

If the thread it describes a method, I think it should be allowed since methods usually work for a long time in some basic way, but interest might die out.

Obviously, no posts in the lounge should be dug up since that makes no sense.

But I think in most cases, it's best to PM the original poster directly so no one gets annoyed.

And it's just annoying to people who think it's some new content being posted, when it's really someone replying to a year-old Joint Venture thread about someone who needs a Craigslist poster.

Also, some people aren't familiar with forum software and they get confused thinking that the thread is new if it is dug up, since it appears on the front page.

Well I am at least grateful for what I have and what I learn here on BHW new and old... I am always learning something to help me succeed in reaching my goal and have a pillow of money to fall back on if needed. If the world didn't have a black hat world then I am not sure what I would do in my spare time... all I know is my knowledge would be less vast than it is at the moment.

That's basically how it works. That's why threads aren't closed automatically. There's a lot of threads that no one minds if they get bumped, but there's others that are pointless to get bumped.

As ChrarlesNCharge said if the thread is from someone asking for accounts (or something like that) then there isn't much point in bumping the thread. Even worse is when the thread was someone offering something, and they aren't even active on the forum anymore.

As is always mentioned on these kind of theads, it doesn't matter if it's an old thread or a new one, don't just leave "thanks for the share", "great method" or other short pointless posts just to increase your post count. If you're going to bump a thread at least leave a post that adds something useful to the thread.

At least take a moment to look at the date on the first post though and if your going to ask something of the OP check to see if he's logged into the forum sometime in the last 6 months or not.

It's just a judgment call as to whether you should bump it or not. If people complain then figure you might have made the wrong call. Don't argue about it, just learn from it and move on. :smokin:
