I'd recommend going over to Fiverr and looking through the gigs... get a good idea of what people are buying. Once you find something you like, make sure you can offer way more value than the other gigs. So for example, if you decide to write articles, offer to write more words than the other gigs on fiver. If you decide to go with logo creations, offer to make 3 or 4 different logos in your gig. This way you'll attract more customers who are looking to get more for their $5 and hopefully you'll start getting some positive reviews. It's best to come up with a completely original gig if possible. This should earn you some start up cash to start your online venture.
Make sure to read the threads in the money making section... pick 1-2 methods and give them a try. Make sure to test each method fully before moving on the next. That's one mistake I've always made in the beginning and I'm pretty sure 90% of the people on this forum fail to make money because also do this. They choose a method, start to work on it, and after a few days of work they drop it because it either doesn't work as it was explained in the thread or they find another appealing method that seems to be better than the the first. That's something you have to avoid because I've wasted lots of time starting methods that I didn't go through with which could have been successful. I've also wasted money by making poor investments into tools/outsourcing which I thought I would need and didn't even use.
It's all about choosing a certain field and becoming an expert in it. Most methods you'll find here are ones that will give you an idea, but not the step by step process to actually making the money. It's your job to read between the lines by thinking of different twists to change the method in order to earn from it. Obviously this is the hardest part and the only way to do this is by STARTING NOW with ONE method, even if it takes investing some money and maybe even losing it in the end, at least you'll gain knowledge. Then you'll know what works, what doesn't, and how to go about the method in the future. Some methods are outdated, but most of them still work if you twist them up a bit. There's lots of methods to choose from but the important thing is to TRY FAIL TRY FAIL FAIL FAIL TRY and finally SUCCEED. If you want to start earning anything, you'll have to learn something inside out.
Another mistake I've made in the beginning was reading the forums day in and day out. Don't make the same mistake because you'll gain more experience trying a certain method yourself than reading about it all day. I remember taking in so much information reading that I always forgot half of it at the end of the day anyway. I wasted SO MUCH TIME doing that...
Right now I am building up social media accounts in different niches, creating websites for them, posting the websites to my social media to drive traffic.... On those websites I have my offers and I collect their emails for marketing other products. It's something that works for me and I enjoy it a lot more than SEO so maybe you can take a look into it.
