you're not missing anything ... the first two seasons were cool and showed a lot of potential... after that it just got into a uphill-downhill spiral ... disappointed by the last season especially as the story is getting pulled towards a fast finish just in the last 2 episodes after a season filled with nothing but yawn generators .... as that wasn't bad enough, all of Walts problems seem to disappear and just when he thinks he's on the home stretch things start pilling back up in a Scarface-esque kind of way
in the last 2 episodes Walter will most likely kill all the hillbillies and save Jesse, get his money in a safe spot and afterwards just poison himself and surrender to the cops for a quick conviction and death in custody so that Skylar is off the hook

I will agree that season 5A wasn't really the best. But they're making up for it in spades.

The whole point of the show is Walt's dedication to family. The ending MUST focus on that, otherwise the entire series will have been completely meaningless. Hank has already died, and that is what has caused the permanent break with Jesse.
Is Walt going to suddenly overlook the fact that his brother-in-law is dead, and choose to continue to keep Jesse's worthless, stupid ass alive? Hell no. Jesse is permanently on the "hit list".
So, if you are a writer, do you kill-off Walt and let Jesse live? Walt, who sacrificed everything for family, is going to die and that miserable, retarded worthless Jesse is going to survive? Fuck no. Jesse dies.
I think Walt lives. I think everyone wants Walt to live. I don't think the writers can bring themselves to kill him off. Maybe Skylar dies. And stop calling them "Hill Billies". They ain't in Appalachia.
I also think the money is coming back to Walt. You don't spend 4 seasons earning a bajillion dollars, only to have them wind-up in the hands of the Aryan Brotherhood.

if he wanted Jesse dead why did he give his ok on not killing him but rather keeping him to cook meth ? Both Walt and Jesse have escaped from situation similar to the one in which Jesse is now so Walt, as the master plan genius that he is, would've most certainly taken that into account

Walt doesn't know they're keeping him to cook meth. He thinks they're torturing the information out of him that he gave to the DEA, then killing him. He's going to find out Jesse is cooking for them and go ape shit.
I have a strong feeling the family aspect is out the window, since Skylar went all uppity and pulled a knife, after telling the son about the meth. He was right, all she had to do is keep her mouth shut. She basically ruined everything. I think his dedication to family is over. He's become a monster.
Pretty sure Walt is going to die. No way he walks out of this alive....
