Breaking Bad or Prison Break or The Walking Dead?

Agree with this. The Sopranos is the both the daddy and the benchmark for this level of quality series. With the other series such as Breaking Bad and The Wire I think they are comparable with regards to character development, production, plot etc etc but not nearly as funny. The Sopranos is nearly 2 decades old, to give you an idea of the longevity and freshness the show maintained.

Some of the current shows that I think are decent

GOT
Ray Donovan
True Detective
House of Cards (although it's slipping)
Walking Dead
Better Call Saul
The Leftovers (Very well put together)
Fargo (Again well put together, surprisingly so)

Last point, in 1997 when The Sopranos was getting 3 million viewers Friends was getting 30 million, there's no accounting for taste.
 
Mr Robot is promising.
Gotham was great.
Spartacus and Vikings I liked too.
 
Haven't seen Prison Break, but Breaking Bad is one of the best TV shows of all time. The spin off Better Call Saul is worth checking out as well if you like legal stuff and the Saul character from the TV show. After watching Walking Dead for 5 seasons, I abandoned it because of how boring and predictable the show became - none of the characters are likable and I just wanted them to all become zombies.

Few other shows you might want to check out are Rome (lasted 2 seasons before they cancelled it for being too expensive to create).
 
Out of the 3 you listed. I'd have to say hands down breaking bad is the best. It's a show you would watch again and again.

The Sopranos was the benchmark for keeping your viewers while being as repetitive as possible. it was indeed one of the first dramas of its kind. Also, friends was getting so many viewers because it was just like Seinfeld and it was on its 4th season.

The website Metacritic, which gathers reviews from news sources and translates them into a percentage score, assigned The Wire's fourth season a weighted average score of 98%, the second highest score for any television season in Metacritic history (with the fifth season of Breaking Bad being the first).

The first two seasons of the Sopranos were him talking to his psychiatrist and having sexual tension inside of those meetings. I could not find much depth to the show. The Wire tackled race, politics, the war on drugs, character development, several stories going on simultaneously as they interact, and the realism of the fall of the American work force.
 
The first season of Prison Break and TWD are really good but then falls. Breaking bad is simply the best.

Friends averaged 24 million in its first year and consistently had multiples of The Sopranos, even when that hit its peak.

The psychiatrist is genius because he isn't going to open up to his crew or his wife so the show needs someone for him to express his feelings to.

I love The Wire too, even the later series with a focus on schooling and the decline of newsprint, I just don't think it is anywhere near as funny as The Sopranos. The Wire is my second favorite of all time.

There is no right or wrong in terms of what is better ;-). TV is like art, it is personal preference.
 
breaking bad is okay, but gets boring quick.

game of thrones... is like a bad xenu or hercules.

the walking dead is cheesy and cheap looking.

haven't seen prison break... but i'm not expecting a blockbuster.

most tv sucks now

but i did like V

The Wires "hidden comedy" comes from your level of interest in the show and your ability to relate to the characters. Like Bodie, he is definitely the funniest character. The Sopranos idea of him talking to a psychiatrist was good, but there was basically nothing in the sessions. I mean, I remember falling asleep in one of the episodes. It had no action to accompany the drama, you know?

Yeah, it is indeed about personal preference. There is no right or wrong. Though, I do study film, I can write a screenplay, and a few years back I could put together small skits with some friends of mine who were not bad actors. I just enjoy the depth, relativity, and comedy of a series.
 
Prison break is best out of these three. Otherwise my all time favourite is "Person of Interest".
 
Having the Walking Dead in the same title with Breaking Bad... this should be a bannable offense. :)
 
Ive watched all three, and I love all three of them. If I had to choose my favorite, probably breaking bad with walking dead after. Prison break was way too drawn out.
 
Breaking bad was good. I like the walking dead too.

Game of thrones especially when the queen of dragons gets her baps out.

Sons of anarchy is a good show, except when they go to Ireland. That's pish of the highest order.
