Breadcrumb Google update?

Can see everywhere that people are asking to change urls because of this update.

May I know what is a breadcrumb and what this update is all about in layman's language?

IMO, A breadcrumb is a small text path, often located at the top of a page which provides an easy-to-grasp way for visitors to navigate your site and they instantly understand how your site structure works.

Due to this update, Google is now showing the site name, plus the breadcrumb in the search results rather than showing URLs.

It might be a test. Will wait & see.

IMO, No need mate. Google will do it even when we are not defining this using Schema Markup.

If you're using Wordpress your theme might have a setting for enabling/disabling breadrumbs. It depends on your setup if you want it activated or not. It gives a good internal linking structure.
