That's not how branding works.
Any link can be a branded link, just use the brand name...

Honestly i can't really say because i go out and claim as many as i can. You can sort them out by types (bookmarks, blogs, social etc..) and categories. Try to stick to the general ones and the ones related to you niche. Also to make the most of it in terms of branding, i use the brand name in the url.
