I recently started a Brand new social networking site and after I started it I am out of ideas. What to do with the site?

Can I have some ideas please?

Note: I am not comparing the website with facebook, twitter or other website so please no Taunting.

you can use the power of Facebook to promote your new found network ;) or bookmark it .

If its niche specific post about it on forums / blogs to generate traffic.

You need to make the site appear to be busy as no one will join a social network that is a ghost town.

Promote your sites in some good social networking sites and also in forums, done blog comments in quality sites.

Yes I want to promote it, but what keywords to target? Do I need some keywords? Or I have to do something really special to drive the traffic?

The url of the website is :- http://inschool.co/

site looks fine, but its empty!!! you MUST make some real looking fake profiles before spending on advertising, else you just throwing the money away

That's a pretty legit looking site there bro.
What you could do actually is go over to your local high school and see if you can push it on them. A way for parents, students, and teachers to contact each other. And market it as somewhat safer than say Facebook. You could really get a lot of people on board.
Good luck with that bro

the site is very neat and organized. i must agree with the guys you need some activity on the site. i will be signing up later. :)

You have to find an issue that everyone has with facebook - and then use that as your selling point to gain subscribers. Like, why would I want to join up there? What benefits do you have.

For an example, everyone complains about the facebooktimeline. You can market the site as "the way facebook used to be". Or "Facebook with out the distractions"

Just some thoughts....

Good luck!

You can get started with handing out flyers to the students of the schools in your area

But before that, make some legit looking fake profiles, 50-100 will do with pictures ;)

Yea, I'd outsource that also. Just spend the $25-30 to get a bunch of profiles made. I'd also get some content for the blogs and some other stuff. $100 should get you there unless you plan to do it all yourself.
