Brand Name Keywords

Hi all,

Looking for a little advice on brand named keyword (for example nike golf clubs). This keyword would not be used on the homepage, but would be used on an inner page (i.e. golfclubreviews.com/nike-golf-clubs-reviews). Are keywords like this rankable, or is the effort normally too much? The expectation would not be to rank about the nike site itself, but the next set of sites include amazon, golftown, overstock, ebay, dicks, etc (all ecommerce stores).

I am assuming that Google would give a keyword like this more preference to ecommerce sites to assist the searcher but am curious if others have found they were able to rank for keywords like this.

Note: this is not my niche, and was just used to illustrate the question

Yes of course it's rankable it just comes down to how competitive your targeted keyword(s) are and how many high quality links you can build to your page(s).
