i have stores that i have folders in, site.com/store and i have brand names in them

Marc Jacobs Womens Perfume

is the name of the blog, would companies sue for that, or site.com/marcjacobs

I think you can create a subdomain like store.domain.com.
It will allow your customers to know him.

I'm not a lawyer, but pretty much everybody uses (3rd party) brand names in URLs. Just search for something on Amazon, for example.

Generally speaking, you can do it like this:

A brand name contained in the name of your domain name can get you in trouble eg: bestbrandname.com

A brand name in the URL is allowed eg: yourwebsite.com/brandname

You can't use any brandname in the domain name

You can use any brandname as a sub folde (domain.com/brand)

sounds like the consensus is that a brand name in a sub domain is ok. You asked about companies sueing you, well the first step a company will take is a cease and desist letter from their lawyer. Basically they will tell you to stop and shut the site down. Then you can decide if you want to continue and take your chance or just cut your losses and move on. In a legal and ethical way, at the minimum, go about your business until someone tells you to stop.

greatperfumes.com/gucci is ok because gucci is not in the domain name
