Hello all,

Quick question about putting a brand name in a domain name. For example appleproducts.com. Is this seen as copyright and will it lead to trouble or is it OK?

Many thanks!

If you are using appleproducts.com to sell apple products or other tech products then you will get into trouble. But if you are using appleproducts.com to sell apple jelly then you have nothing to worry about.

simple go on legalzoom and check is that name appleproducts is copyrighted or not if yes then dont use that domain otherwise no issue

Some domain name registries don't allow you to register an branded domain with a different tld.

Nothing to worry about unless you start selling Apple products on it.

If you're selling apple products yes. I see this all the time on flippa and people buying domains with copyrighted names in them that sell products. Can't do that.

Not a copyright issue but possibly a trademark one.
