Brainstorming needed for product

I have a facebook page that is for community news. I have a lot of people that are very active in the discussions on the page. 99% are local to my city.

I have built up a good reputation and rapport with my group and I have decided that now is a good time to start monetizing it.

I would like to get ideas on a product that would appeal to the majority of my audience, which is just normal, local citizens.

Of course, I would like to make it a digital product so that it is mostly profit. I would like it to be my own product too, as I don't want to go the affiliate route.

Any suggestions would be fantastic and it may just help others too.

Whats the page about?

Make sure you see what their all interested about it then launch your product. Conduct some surveys.. maybe that could help.

Why do they "like" your fan page in the first place? What news do you bring to them?

Can you perhaps create a app and go to the local stores and tell them about your app and tell them that if they want to advertise to a local market they can send a "push" sms for $100 per message or something.

The page is about our community. I live in a medium sized city. Actually it is three cities rolled in to one in the middle of the desert. Total being about 200,000 people.

They "liked" my page because it is sort of a hub for everybody to write about their own news. If somebody sees a sale at a local store, they will write about it. If somebody sees a fire on the hill, they will check to see if it is a prescribed burn and let everybody know. It is those types of things that are going on the page. It isn't about any one thing.

You need to think exactly why the people came to your page in the first place?
That is going to tell you why they are interested and what products or offers you can send them that would yield the
best conversions for your page.

Couldnt you start a small site or an app where the people in your city can post services and jobs up or if hey are selling something or need something and you can charge them a small fee for posting their job/service up? Just a thought.
