Recently started taking on some new reputation management clients. Most of the time I was just doing the typical web 2.0 sites, etc. Have a new client that has some serious shit about them on the web and I havent been able to move 2 listings. Anyone have any interesting black hat techniques to try and move these down? Suggestions appreciated, looking for some out of the box conversation that will also hopefully help others as well!

Hit me up and explain your process. what you have tried and what he domain is or their city and kewords.
i'll need to know what you have done so far, been doing this since 2008 some shit you cant get unless they are paying you at least a couple $k a month as youll have to reinforce a consistant feed of coverups.

I'll shoot you a PM.

Anyone else want to chime in? Potentially thinking along the lines of doing some duplicate content, but not sure how effective that would be?

Duping his content wont do a thing. Its just a matter of out ranking the sites because if its on an authority site then it might be too hard to bump

Hi RightInTwo,

Check out all of the "brand" web 2.0 websites out there.

Here is a good list from Know'em (a good number of these still tend to rank pretty well in these types of situations and some don't need many/any links at all to stick, but you need hyper-relevant unique content)

Actually here is the thread on BHW with popular high-ranking web 2.0's too (don't know if you already checked it out or not, for others that haven't it is a useful list)

Google loves diversity within their search results. So in addition to building links to neutral pages already listed in the top 25 and creating/backlinking the popular web 2.0 websites, you can look into stuff like producing simple videos for the popular video-sharing websites, use professional and relevant images for the popular image-sharing websites, create and distribute presentations that will rank for your relevant keywords, etc. Press releases dripped at a consistent rate can work out well too...

Content costs can get very high so be sure to leverage each piece of unique content that you have, for example turn your articles into videos etc. Check out the following guide for a lot of useful online reputation management tactics that can still work in 2012. There is a lot you can do and a lot of resources/website types/file types you can leverage. Videos seem to be ranking really well these days, and not just YouTube, but Vimeo etc. You can try using classified sites like Craigslist and QnA sites like Yahoo Answers etc to get kw-rich positive/neutral content ranking on the first pages too.

Look at some of the techniques in "Step 3" of the guide specifically:

A Basic Guide To Online Reputation Management

Also, I mentioned this in other related threads on BHW. In specific situations, Google WILL actually remove search results for you, similar stuff discussed here:

What To Do When Your Personal Information Becomes Publicly Available Online

For future reference, in situations where you DO get certain pages removed through various means, always ensure that the cached page is removed from Google as well:

Very good read.

We should be able to help. There is a lot of Rep work we do for clients. Add us on Skype so we can talk. Cheers :)
'rankgeek' is the name.

I apologize for bringing this topic back to life, but I am wanting to know if anyone else knows of alternate links for the articles that were posted.

Seems I'm late to the party but jsherloc has given a lot of good info so no need to repeat those.

Remember though Personal ORM is different from Business ORM and you've got to devise your strategy accordingly.

If you are still having issues feel free to PM or give more of the issue here and ill do the best I can to help.

The only technique you need is a creative mind and a tactical brain.

Also don't apply any of those throw links from link farms at the problem to try and get it banned etc that's still something I am yet to see work in the post penguin panda era for authority sites in my experience it does nothing at all but makes them harder/stickier to move.
