Bounce rate is broken

Hey, just want to know what others thoughts are on bounce rate.

I have an informational blog, and my bounce rate is 96% It's a fairly new website and traffic and rankings are growing.

This is google analytics over the last 7 days...as you can see most posts are 100% bounce and zero time spent on page.. a rare sight to see for most people.



As I said the blog is all informational content so far, so my thought would be they google a question, come to my page, get the answer, and then leave.

Why would they go to other pages of my site if they already have the answer?

My content is good, it is engaging, on point, has images, some videos, etc etc

What are your thoughts??

Not broken, something is up with the traffic.

Yeah it's very strange. The traffic is set to organic and it's where (edit)84% comes from.

What do you mean by set to organic? Did you buy it somewhere?

No sorry I meant it was set to 'organic traffic' inside google analytics.

0 seconds 0 pageviews - doesn't look like organic.
Place yandex metrika to your site and watch visits, it would give you an idea of whats happening.

Does the organic traffic come directly from the search keywords that your site ranks for?

Yeah will do, thanks for the tips. Also I noticed I have monster insights (google analytics plugin) where as my other sites use just GA Google analytics plugin and their bounce rate and time on page is waaay better. Same content writer, style as well.

Yep, according to search console, all keywords - or variants of - are same as post title/topic.

Thanks heaps for recommending that mate. I have some stats I thought I'd show.

Watching the actual user interaction from each visitor is quite weird...the way you can see them scroll and click is fascinating lol.

I only had a handful of people in that time but will take another look when I have more visits.

Question: Why is the time on site on the dashboard much lower than the first pic (all the users stayed on page for a couple of minutes?

Does anything look out of the ordinary?

Because it's an average time for all users.

Yeah that's I thought. But 12 out of 15 people were on there for well over a minute.

That is strange. If it is organic, then the keyword on SERP, sending them to your blog, might be misleading. When they land, they find it is talking about something else but about the same keyword. Check with Ahref or Ubersuggest.
