Bought a domain name which is marked as "PURE SPAM" By GOOGLE

I bought a domain name 3 days ago which have been used by someone from 2010 and dropped in 2014. I tried indexing it in google but google was not indexing it. Then I tried Manual Actions is webmaster and it showed me that the domain is marked as "pure spam" by google.
My question is should I move ahead with reconsideration request or should I drop the domain name and move on.
Any ideas on this?

Pure Spam? Well, it is not worth your time, unless the domain name is related to your brand, then forget it as others has said already.
It is not worth the time. I have tried to ''unspam'' ''pure spam'' sites with no success.

drop the domain and get a new one - even if you rescue the domain any metrics that it had are clearly useless so there is not really any advantage - unless you really need it because of brand name or something?

Go for a new one. No point in trying I think.

if you really really really like the domain and need it for reals. then go with it and do it clean. resubmit many times over and the manual check will see that you changed it for the better, but do note that it will take a long long time for it to be cleaned.

I have experience with this (twice) and you will get the manual penalty lifted easily. You will first have to put some posts on it though and make it look like a legit website. They won't lift it for an empty domain. First time it happened to me I had already started making my website for a while when I noticed. I told them how it was, that I bought it to make a new site tbut that the previous website apparently had done bad stuff with it and asked if they could please reomve it from my site, not my doing after all. It was lifted.

Second time, I bought domain with really nice metrics and backlinks, and tried lift it instantly with the same excuse, without having made a website on it. Don't remember the exact response but the meaning was I need to make effort to show google it's not used for spam, a.k.a making my website. Made it a personal blog and 3 weeks later or so submitted again, penalty lifted.

The main thing to put emphasis is that YOU were not the one who made the site deserve a penalty, explain this to them, that they will have understanding for. Much harder I'd say if it wasn't dropped and you yourself got the penalty.

you have only bad backlinks? Maybe your domain just don't worth nothing?
reconsideration request work - but you must lost many time (create white site with good content etc and then send request to Google)

There are definitely solutions for resolving the "pure spam" status of this domain, but the value of it relative to the costs, time, and other resources one would need to invest must be considered.

As others have said ... if it is mission critical that this is the domain you use, then of course take the appropriate steps to get the penalty removed. If not ... move on to an un-penalized domain name.

Do consider that the amount of work relative to resolving any given "pure spam" domain actually depends on a lot more than just the on-site content as another user has indicated above. If you have a nasty backlink profile it could be hard or overly challenging to eliminate google's mis-perception of your site.

I doubt you actually NEED this domain, so my recommendation is to use another domain name.

Definitely drop it and move on.
