    Hey guys,

So I feel there's a trend of all new social services launching solely as mobile phone apps and having no web browser site to speak of. There are a bunch out there (phhhoto and flipagram are the biggest that come to mind) I think are highly active and would be great to automate. So I wondering if anyone out there has experimented at all on mobile only social networks, and how you got started. Would it be possible to design a bot for one of these apps in UBot? Or that limited to browser based sites?

    Thanks

It is do able. I've been doing it. If the app use some sort of web server ( has to communicate back to a server, send and retrieve information from the a server ) you can reverse the protocol. And just make a bot that mimics the protocol.

Like Instagram, Pintrest, Tumblr all have a api you can use to post, follow, ect...

But the example of phhhoto, not sure how that works. If the convert the picture for you using the phone hardware, it will be harder to bot. But if it sends the video back to a server, a script can easily send a video to the server and wait for a response. From the limited reading I've done, I think it sends the video to a server and sent back to you.

If your phone is jailbroken you can also use a program called Autotouch to use scripts on your phones/iPods.

Yeah I've messed with Autotouch. It's cool but still doesn't get as sophisticated as I'd like. Plus it's something I have to constantly monitor. I'd really like something I can set and forget.

So is that something I could do in Ubot with limited programming knowledge? I was considering getting it. Or is it something I need more experience programming knowledge for?

Well it wont be doable on ubot. I would use something like Python for fast development for something like this.
