Bot warning from Comcast Xfinity

Has anyone received one of these notices. If so, how did you resolve the issue.

Is this just a trick to get me to buy some of their crap or can they make problems for me if I am using SB and Forum Bot?

Well its most likely the bots your running. Since they create lots of connections your ISP thinks someone might be doing some shit with your pc you don't know about. Best idea is probably to get VPS

Are you using proxies? if yes, it shouldnt be problem..

If theres more drama, get VPS or something.. you can get a decent one in around 30 to 60$

Yes I got this before when I was running a zennoposter template of mine for over 24 hours without any proxies.

**** proxy will NOT solve your problem. **** the ISP is sitting between you and the proxies, it can see everything.

Get a VPN and you are done. VPN encrypts data at your computer's socket. Get Hide My Ass, or another VPN. The added benefit of VPN is that you can switch IP's, usually unlimited bandwidth. Hit the proxy section of the forum, and there are plenty of offers/discussions. You can get some VPNs that don't keep logs, just in case.

I don't know what a VPN is but I know where to find out thanks to blackieman. I have been wondering about VPS too Kleptomaniac. Thanks for the ideas.

Will using a VPS use my bandwidth or will it use the VPS'. Any good VPS with some software on it.

I don't know shit about this so thanks for the help.

You also should reply to them and let them know that your computer caught a virus and you have resolved the matter by reformatting your hard drive. They can shut your internet service down if they feel like you're a risk because they don't want any of their IP's getting blacklisted.

Are you running Scrapebox or any manual-automated mass processes?

If not, then you are likely infected by a botnet/trojan/etc....

The alert may simply be based on the number of connections and outbound traffic the ISP is seeing. They may not even care what the traffic is, the quantity alone is a footprint for bots.

It is scrapebox. I need to find a solution to my bandwidth usage and Comcast. Will a VPS use my bandwidth or the VPSs bandwidth. And what is a decent one. Thanks. for now I have turned off Scrapebox.

Bah! I hate the warnings that ISP's toss out. Tell them you ARE the bot net, and you haz all their bases.

If you keep receiving the bot notice and don't do anything about it, they will suspend your internet access. Keep an eye on it...

Getting a VPS will not use your bandwidth while running

just a single socket connection to the VPS itself while you are connected, the idea is that the VPS is running just like running virtualbox on your desktop but it is running 24/7 on a remote computer

best not to ignore that kind of stuff for to long, though they will generally give you a suspension before a ban
where one day you won't be able to get online possibly with an odd colored light on your modem
