Bored..So learning to count cards in Blackjack

I'm thinking about going to casinos a little more next year of course I want too have a little edge over the house.
has anyone effectively learned how to count cards if so do you have any tips.

You can get ban for life for that dude! Depends on casino legislation in your country.

Try to be rain man maybe or learn to calculate odds, I know them in poker but for Blackjack.....
 
Most casinos now use 4-5 decks so counting is extremely hard. There are some that use 1 deck but shuffle the cards very often.
 
I took a vacation about two months ago to Vegas and played single deck BlackJack at Circus Circus ($100 Table). I counted cards the whole time using the +1 -1 system and made really good money. Just try to play alone at the table and it'll be much easier to count.

The local casino here uses 5 decks for blackjack. It's very annoying when I get 2 face cards and BAM dealer hits Ace/King....it actually happens quite often. I usually just go for the seafood buffet... they give you a $25 comp for staying in the casino for just 2hrs. It's heaven for bums as this provides them with a free meal daily.

My uncle was banned for life from the same casino back in the late 90's for counting cards. Back then they only used one deck for blackjack.
 
I'm no expert but isn't there still luck involved with counting cards?

Being Banned is part of life, I have been banned from Paypal, ebay, Cpa Networks, adwords, adsense, the list goes on doesn't really bother me to much at this point.

They also usually use your head to open the steel door after they're done 'questioning' you. A little different than getting banned via phone, website, or email.

Yup, and dealers learn to count cards unofficially for detection. Wrong way to get a tour backstage and back alleyway of casinos.

I won't say luck per say, but the edge is shifted to you a lot more then it would be if u didn't know how too.

Just make sure no old school vegas thug hustles you for all your winnings just so he can build his retirement fund because he's been replaced with facial recognition software.
 
I can count cards, Go in with lots of money!!! or else you won't be able to hang while counting cards. 5 decks blows and the chances of a full shuffle before you get the edge is more then none. Learn to play craps it can have a better % of winning when played properly.
 
My one friend counted cards for a while. Made a nice bit of money, but lost a nice bit too. It's a good short term way of making money if you're good, but if you can't afford to lose the money, I wouldn't risk it.

What is blackjack?? and what it is all about counting cards?? I have never gambled as there are no casinos in my country.
