Is boosting a link on high authority site more efficient than boosting your money site directly? In our example we get an article published on forbes which has high DA and TF but low PA because it is not on the front page and not many people link to it. By sending PBN links to the article we raise its PA from 12 to 20.

We know that from a domain to domain link, we lose 15% link juice from the old PageRank formula. I have assumed that link juice passed is a multiplicative function of DA, TF and PA less the lost juice. Obviously the final amount of link juice depends on the actual formula google use which we have no idea about.

The idea is that by boosting the article on forbes we are free riding on that site's high DA and TF. If we boost our money site directly the gains will be less since we have a low DA and TF. Any thoughts on this hypothesis?

I disagree here and would say it's the other way around. You are playing merely with third party metrics that do not mirror the reality, especially not DA or PA. I am fairly sure that serp/traffic improvement would be better after pointing those 10 domains directly to money site and not using "parasite" as a buffer.

It's significantly easier to push an empty shopping cart, than pushing a cart with hundreds of beers in it. And this is very similar.

And again, will boosting TF or DA make you any money? Not even indirectly.
