Hi OP,

I disagree on the hosting services being provided, generally they are stable and safe.
My criteria is safety as the first option and swift backup, both are satisfied.

Domain name : It has always been an issue, HG is not specialized in this field anyway.

Overall, personal experience is decent!

I always keep my domain registrars separate from my hosting accounts. My usual go to registrar is namecheap and it has been from day one but when buying a domain from auction I just buy it with godaddy.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of HG at all. All their pricing seems great at first but then it climbs fast once you're a customer

I boycotted GoDaddy back in 2011 when their CEO, Bob Parsons, thought it was cool to kill elephants for fun. Moved about 50 domains overs to Namecheap and they've had my business ever since.
