Boomer Facebook Method

Merry Christmas BHW! I came across this method accidentally, because my mom is participating in it on Facebook. It’s nothing new, but it’s definitely still working in 2023!

Basically, these guys created a Facebook group around a niche. My mom is interested in said niche and joined the group. This group doesn’t promote offers, but is just there to be a helpful resource and community for people interested in the niche. This group serves as TOF (top of funnel) for an “exclusive” & “private” group where members can participate in raffles around said niche. An admin messages the member and asks them if they want to join the exclusive group. These boomers are literally sending $20 per raffle via Zelle, Venmo, and CashApp to participate. I saw the group my mom is in and there are hundreds of participants for this one niche. They’ll buy a product for $500, get 100 participants and pocket $1,500. THIS IS WORKING IN 2023.

Nice. So this works like group buying? They facilitate the purchase and pocket the difference?
This could be applied to so many other niches and not be boomer specific.

This is the financial model of every lottery. Am I missing something? Other than the questionable legality of running this, obviously.

Yes and its regulated by same authorities. I remember seeing news story where some school had Taylor Swift tickets as a raffle giveaway and ended up not giving them to the winner. This was investigated by the state's lottery commission and school got into serious trouble for running raffles.

Raffles are OK and have been done for many decades by small organizations. Doing it online and in scale can lead to complaints from participants and that can leads to investigations by state & federal agencies, including IRS. It's a cool method if you never get into any kind of trouble. Remember Kardashians and other celebrities got into trouble for social media misrepresentation and that included giveaways.

I've tried similar to this selling smth on Facebook groups/pages.
kinda impossible.

I done this for a while a few years ago. Build up a group of stay at home mums and run a daily draw. It’s a simple method but Facebook was always on my back so I gave it up.
