Hi, I'm still trying to decide whether or not to get Bookmarking Demon. I've been into IM for a few years now, and make enough money that I don't need to have a regular job. However, I want to push things up a notch, and have a lot of projects in the works - all of which will need promotion.

So - I am thinking about Bookmarking Demon, however I hear one thing that really puts me off.

Supposedly it does not reliably work with the main social bookmarking sites, (i.e. Digg, Mister-Wong, Jumptags etc.) - Is this true?

I saw a list of the sites that it did from about 1 year ago. It really should be called ScuttleDemon. I have not used it but as I understand it BMD is great for the open source directory sites: scuttle, pligg, phpdugg, scuttleplus.
Apart from that it doesnt work well with the main sites.

    Thanks for that Rhianni. :)

I did buy it in the end. Works pretty well for my purposes at the moment - posts to 11 of the main sites without any real issues. But the true test is in whatever success it brings over the next few weeks / months.

Haven't used the scuttle / pligg side of it yet though. Still not sure how much value links from such sites actually grant.

Yeah I know what you mean. Some people say scuttle and pligg are worthless. But then all the top SEO bloggers swear by BMD. I keep going back to looking at it. Perhaps I'll pick it up and just test the damn thing myself.

Problem for me is that I felt that the cost of just over £100 was very expensive just for the 11 or so main bookmarking sites it includes. I'm not too worried about the Pligg and Scuttle at the moment - but maybe I will try them on my new sites and see what happens.

Eitherway, it's saved me a lot of time. And is only a little bit more money than one months SENuke fee.

Bookmarking Demon works well with these sites:
    a1-webmarks
    bibsonomy
    delicious
    faves
    folkd
    getboo
    indianpad
    mixx
    oneview
    oyax
    searchles
    spotback
    spurl
    web2list

It will create accounts for the above sites 'automatically', but you do have to enter in the capcha manually. It also bookmarks manually, though you also have to enter capcha manually.

Bookmarking Demon works great if you are working on you computer whilst it is running. I minimize it and let it run it the background whilst doing other things, then switch back and add the capchas every now and then.

But you can't leave it unattended. And as to how worthwhile bookmarking is overall, who really knows?
