Hello. I know the travel niche has a lot of competition. But i was thinking in a long tail such as hotel + city + area of the city with a long article in the homepage and a list of hotels of that area.
What do you think? Is it possible to rank something like that?
The key for me here is the content. The aim is more in the people traveling to this city than in Google and Seo tactics.
Any advice is welcome.

hotel + city + area of the city -- I've never tried using this formula. However, I have come across colleagues who have used this and they've been ranking just fine. Just make sure that you have high quality content and that you avoid duplicity at all times. -Micah

Hi Micah. Im still researching and i dont know if it is possible to rank. Of course high quality content is mandatory. Thanks for your answer

Actually a smart idea, I think there is a thread somewhere on BHW about this.
The good thing is that once you know the formula, you can just do the same for other touristy area.

Yes, it will work, if the competition is very low and try for local ranking only. So, don't think for global traffic.
Only work for specific region traffic by using Google local listing.

Yes, it is a promising idea.

In fact, there is a whole strategy around this called Rank & Rent. Google it or search on BHW to learn more.

If you are doing it for touristy areas, not really a lot of chance for significant rankings. Whatever is not super-targeted by local hotels, resorts, tour agencies etc is taken over with Tripadvisor, Viator, Expedia and other giants, pushing your results to oblivion.

Did you manage to rank some of that in the end?

Edie, I see you are in Argentina. You don't say whether you are intending to do this in Spanish or English but it might work quite nicely in Spanish because of the lower competition in the search results. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I agree. English sector is over saturated, but you can try doing it in Spanish.

Old post, but let me put my view in. As someone who travels quite a lot, there is no chance I'd book through / go through some small time website. The risk and ballache is quite simply too much.

Of course, I'm not disputing that travelling affiliate marketing does not work / work. I'd j7st guess ones efforts could be put into far greater converting niches.
