bolding sentence fragments

it's been said that bold keywords help seo. but what if you want to bold an entire sentence (for reading purposes) that includes an array of keywords? for example, in the sentence:

my keyword is weight-loss, but i want to bold more than just the word weight-loss.
i would normally include bold tags at the beginning and end of the sentence. but if i instead used this method:

my keyword is weight-lost, but i want to bold more than just the word weight-loss

would that yield better results? or does it not matter?

That's a good question. My initial thought would be yes, though I don't know if there is a limit to how many <b> tags you can include in order for the weight to really help. The variation of bold tags might actually cause confusion about what is being emphasized.

Test it out and see if you can notice any difference. I don't think anybody is going to know this offhand.

yea i was thinking the same thing. however if that's the case, the least amount of words between the tags would appear to be the optimal choice, rather than wrapping an entire sentence between one set of tags. anyone else have any insight on this?
 
My site has H1 tags that are like sentences and the whole thing is bold. I do pretty well in the SERP's. I did not even know that bolding keywords helps in SEO.

I guess you can just play around and try it out for yourself.
 
bolding sentences is pre-2000 SEO. It helped back then, but then wore off. I am not sure if it is back and working. BTW, H1 tags are not as beneficial according to some threads here on Google ranking factors.
 
You don't want to bold the sentence but the keyword. It DOES indeed help. I got some pages up to #1 for terms beating out all kinds of other places all because I was emboldening the specific keyword within all the content I was targeting.

bold is a ranking factor, but seems to be a very minor. I doubt that you can really make decent change in you SERP with this trick any longer.
On other hand excessive bolding especially same keyword bolding all over the page treated similar as keyword stuffing and have negative effect.

Use <strong></strong> tags, more weight is given to those than <b></b> tags
 
It's true about the strong tag, only because the b tag is become depreciated in HTML/XML standards. The strong tag is the new standard for this tag.
