Can i ask, do your sites burn up a load of bandwidth? it must do if its gets so much traffic.
Excuse my noob question as i have never owned a site that gets 1'000s++ hits a day. What hosting package are you on and is a virtual server ok for this project?

One of my sites is getting about 3,000+ unique visitors per day, and it doesn't seem to effect my hosting too much. I use namecheap.com smallest hosting package (pro hosting, $6-7 per month).

The site is expanding very fast, so within the next few months it looks like it's going to get 50,000+ visitors per day, in which case I would have to upgrade to better hosting.
 
Thats good to know thanks! :) Are you talking about one of the hip hop ones you've mentioned on here?

Also, why you selling/sold thekush? would it not be easy just to keep it running earning you a few thousend a month while you work on other projects? or does it take alot of time finding and compiling the new content 5+ times a day?
 
It's so interesting to find threads like these that are packed with useful information while not having to boast "Make $500/every 30 min..". Go figure why it's only got 3 pages in 2 months. Most are looking for the magic bullet.

Unfortunately due to Flippa's "rules" on no "sexy content" I can't sell it on their marketplace which is the biggest marketplace out there, so I'm keeping it for now.

The visitors are increasing daily, and more money is coming in.

Once it has become a very big site, then I'll sell it to other big music websites.

His method is both smart and gutsy for those willing to go after a big, high traffic, high competition niche and then stay there. The stay there part is the part that I think eludes most of us. We can be a one hit wonder, but it takes tactics like these to dominate for long periods of time. It is not the easy road, but it is one of the best methods for a long term business.

Uh oh... when I go to your site now it says "Account Suspended." Looks like all this BHW traffic got you in trouble :(

I haven't tested out numbers, but I recommend "dotcom" because it looks better, ranks better compared to ones like "moneymakingez.net", etc.

I am testing multiple monetization methods, and my account got suspended for server abuse of too much traffic (3k+ per day) with cheapest / smallest hosting.

So I had to email them, and ask to upgrade to business hosting, and now I have to wait 24 hours which is costing me visitors & money.

It depends on their page rank.

If it's a PR 3+, then it can take a few days, but if it's a PR 0 or N/A then it can take a few weeks.
 
Also was wondering how u monetize. I see a LOT of pops and shit on your page. I think at some point something crashes my mozilla firefox also =P
 
Hey bobby

I messaged like 10 websites similar to mine and got one guy to link back to me, but when i go to my page with seo quake i havent gained any backlinks. Its been 3 days since he linked me and he has 10,000 LD. How often do you get someone to link back to you? Im having a pretty hard time getting responses.
