Ok I am still working on keyword research and I have a couple of questions. What if we added dashes in the keyword, for example...instead of widgetsarered.com, could we use widgets-are-red.com? Or is the only other option to use widgetsarereddotcom.com?

Also...I have found a few good keyword choices but they are misspellings. Does it matter how silly the keyword sounds as long as it has lower competition, good CPC, and at least 30k searches?

I don't recommend domains with dashes because they will not get you direct traffic due to a bad domain choice.

If you have a good keyword that's misspelt then go for it if you think it will be profitable.
 
Just an FYI....you can get a good deal on your domain name and hosting right now at 1&1 Internet.com. For 3 more days, you can get your .com domain with private registration FREE for life if you get a hosting package and you even get the hosting 3 months free. You can also install WP on there too, you just have to do it manually.

If you don't want the hosting package, you can still get your .com domain FREE for a year with private registration as well! :)

Nice deal, but 1&1 is the worst registrar/hosting company in the world. This is why they have to give their stuff away, because any paying customers they ever got got such terrible service they left.

Their billing practices are like out of the 80s too. Can you find me another registrar in the world who automatically renews your domains, and then bills you 30 days after the fact? But I wanted to cancel... too bad it's been 30 days pay up. Where the hell do you turn off auto biling, oh just go through the help section and search a really long time, we buried it good so you have a really hard time. Then you login to a different area all together. They don't include it where you manage your domain. Course not, they suck so badly they would never keep any customers if they did. They need to keep them by making it a difficult as possible to leave.

One time I forgot about an invoice for a domain, and they sent a freaken collection agency after me after 3 months! WTF! From the other side of the world, a freak'en collection agent!

Try calling their support. Last time I tried, I was on hold 1 hour and 20 minutes until I gave up attempting to get through to a human being. Pfft.

Oh yeah, their entire control panel system is running PHP3. I can only imagine the horror of what actual hardware they will put behind your site.

I wouldn't trust this offer or that company to hold an umbrella while I tied my shoes.

Anybody who wants to take that 'free' offer, remember, it's going to cost you your time and sanity. There are other ways to pay when money is not involved.

Sorry your experience was bad. I just happened to come across this deal while looking for registrars and thought it might help someone else. I had no idea they were that bad. :(
 
First of all, Bobby thank you for this great information. It will help out immensely!

On a second note, should I make sure to stick around the 30k mark...or would it be better to have a keyword that has a higher amount? I do see some with over 300+ searches, but I'm wondering if it is to my benefit to stick to the smaller amount because it is more broad...
 
For May it is 74,000 and globally it's 135,000 but there's some white in the Advertise Competition...Is that okay, or should I go smaller?

Make sure you are looking at "Exact" searches and not "phrase" or "broad". I would recommend searches of over 30,000 exact, but also do remember you have to have some common sense.

In other words if your keyword is "car insurance" and it gets let's say 30,000 exact searches, then I wouldn't bother with it.

You have to also take note of who you are competing with. (If they are all Page Rank 6+, then I wouldn't recommend those keywords with that kind of competition)
 
I'm doing a similar thing for a sports website I'm working on, but damn bro theres some really great tips in there.

Outside of seo, I also recommend making a twitter account and building followers using tweetattacks or something. A twitter account I created just over a month ago helps me bring 1000-1200 visitors a day to my blog. Thats great traffic. Imagine another couple of months what it will be. Also a lot of new wordpress themes have those little floating tabs on the site with twitter and facebook buttons. Facebook works decently as well, but its more about umbers there, although building large numbers of facebook fans is a lot easier than twitter, due to the fact that just about anybody will add you on facebook.

I was wondering if most of your income is via adsense Bobby. Once one of my sites gets that large, I would like to sell ads to direct big businesses. I've had sites sponsered by companies like adidas that payed $5000/month for a set of ads. If you get contracts with these people, its even better.
 
Hi Bobby, another question for you or anyone else who knows.

How many back links can I safely add within a 24 hour period without getting my site sandboxed?

I am seeing offers all over the place from people offering anywhere from 2000 to 30,000 backlinks in a 24 hour period for websites.

There's no number on how many backlinks you can build.

An example is with one of my websites that's 2 weeks old.

I built 50,000+ backlinks for it yesterday.

Just because you build them doesn't mean Google will index them in 1 day.

Usually Google finds 50% of your backlinks within 2-3 weeks.

You get 10k backlinks from sites with 10k pages because you are placed into their "blogroll" or "friend" list and this is called "Sitewide Links".

Google counts it as a backlink from every single one of their pages.

Since they are from the same domain, they wouldn't get a LOT of weight behind them, but Google still counts the backlink.
