BMR Got Hit

My website who had a lot of ALN posts (maybe 1/5 of all the links to the website) went from ranking top10 for various keywords to #34 for 'myveryuniquedomain' couple days ago...

I have yet to find a single public link network that is undetectable. I doubt what you say because in order to stay undetectable they would have to know how they get detected and I doubt they know that. I have a pretty good algorithm for detecting most sites in a link network. I don't even need public reports from them, I just analyze the links of one of their clients. If I know one single client site that is enough to expose the whole network. If I know more sites, it makes things easier. What I am talking here is an algorithm, something that can be implemented as automated software. If I actually take into consideration that most of the sites in a link network look like obviously part of a link network (you can figure that out generally just by looking at the site) then all you need is a competitor to analyze your backlinks, detect the network and report you.
It is really not that complicated, just basic graph theory and pulling the links from MajesticSEO.
I am sure if they would know how to cover their asses they would probably do it (even though it would increase the cost), but I doubt the know.

I agree. I haven't found a good undetectable network either. I'd pay a premium but all suck.
I used paid article networks exclesively for some hubsites. My VAs had free access to them. Those sites crashed and burned.
In my VAs down time they used the networks to build links to an authority sites T2 and T3 pages. The T1 page also had some permanant home page links from a blog network that had a 20% deindex rate recently.
The authority did not drop in rankings. I don't know if it is because of it's authority or just the low percentage of links the networks represented.

But I thought BMR doesnt accept spun content? why where they hit?

Because Big-G wanted to ... Every once and a while they will put out some sticky boards.
funny you should say that...maybe down the track google will turn away from backlink authority or reduce its power over rankings.
Im thinking they will eventually give more power to sites with `the best quality unique content` along with emphasis on the plus 1 (google+1) rating system. But then again the google+1 system can also be manipulated to a point.
It's no suprised at all that BMR and ALN have been hit. Looks like they have both been picked out manually. Nothing to do with a algo change.
They were always going to get hit, especially ALN. Crappy spun articles with 3 links in each, which will drop off the home page within 2 days. No thanks.
Nothing public is going to work long term, Build your own private networks. They're easy to do just takes up a lot of time and money. Thats where the real money is. Sat sites and your own private networks.

I am just leaving them there. At this point, Google's already crawled, indexed and deindexed everything, right? So it's a bit like trying to put the money back in the vault after the cops finger-printed you for the crime.
Then again, if I get an "unnatural link building" notice, I will remove the posts to please Grandmaster G.
As of yesterday (that I know of) Blogging Underground network got deindexed as well...So far Mike Liebner hasn't said anything about it on the forum except 'don't worry our network is ok' and people still post on the deindexed domains...
Was a smaller and cheaper network, but yeah, Google is definitely after the easy to find blog networks...
