BMR Got Hit

I'd love to know this too. They had thousands of blogs. How would Google find every single blog?
It's pretty simple to find out. All they have to do is pick one or two blogs and than reverse engineer where else each outgoing url per post have a backlink from... if that backlink is in a general blog that doesn't seem to be for real readers...then it is a candidate for de-indexing.

My feeling is that Google want to do things algorithmically as much as possible as they want to make their ranking formula as all-powerful and scalable as possible. However, this looks like they went out and manually identified a bunch of these networks and slapped them as a warning, like the JCPenney thing. It's a cost effective way for them to send a lot of SEOs running and rejig a lot of rankings, but of course it just perpetuates the cat and mouse game and drives smart people underground where they will just keep doing what they were doing but be harder to detect.

Big Google sting, basically. I don't know what some of you are so mad at Google for, they won this round, fair game. Bring on the next round. What, you were ENTIRELY dependent on BMR?! Really? Tut, tut.

I might be missing something here, but wouldn't a solution be to link to tier 2 and 3 sites instead of your money site? Sure you'll still lose the backlinks to your web 2.0 sites, etc. but at least your site would be penalized.

so whats the best alternative for Blog networks now? Not everyone can have their own private blog network.

Well, This gives those who can afford to have their own personal network a big advantage which will change the serps for some time until the dudes on low budget follow up with another solution like limited seats networks which will not be also cheap but at least cheaper than one man network.

ITs an interesting day. I would really like to see this after the smoke clears.

You also have to remember that there is nothing to stop Google from actually joining these networks; Who here thinks that Google does not own a copy of ScrapeBox / Xrumer and uses it to reverse engineer web-spam techniques?

Me thinks things are going to get crazy.

Anyone with a blog network contact me. I
Need links!

I wish that G didn't own the search, people need to start pushing bing, yahoo fuck
It even dog pile.

I am brand new to Black Hat World. Was looking for techniques for boosting my rankings and was literally on the verge of using BMR... glad I read this thread. Oh bottoms.

Simple guys - buy a couple of domains a week, buy a couple of hosting packages a week. Make sure you can host 5 or more "addon" domains per hosting account. Then get on here and start swapping add on's with other BH'ers.

Throw a few free hosted blogs into it as well. Use AMR to post to it.

In a few months if you keep doing this weekly you'll have your own private network - without a big outlay - and don't sell services with it if you want to keep ranking.

Yup this isi it. I still don't get this "who can afford private networks" nonsense. THey're cheap to build they really are.

It took most of the day for the rankings to update from the indexing. But I have had some drops in ranking now.

wow this is intense! bye BMR you will be missed

You guys think UAW also got hit by this?

UAW isn't a public blog network. It is simply a membership platform in which you can submit to directories, sites and blogs. This means there isn't anything to hit really.

Hell, it just goes to show one that if you want big results you need to do it yourself. I've started making my own personal blog network all while earning from it.

i had 2 websites with only bmr links, and since december i noticed 1 of the websites dropped in serps big time....in the middle of jan. the same thing happened to the 2nd one.

sad to see bmr go down, it did its thing when it was 100%.

i think google wants us the "smaller sites" to go the adwords route. there making it virtually impossible for organic SEO to work. if its not one thing its another, its BS we always have to change our methods.

so this is the reason i've got a message from big G about unnatural link building
