Recently I have encountered Google results on my mobile device with the side-ads and the bottom organic results BLURRED out; the bottom paging navigation was ALSO blurred out making it impossible to go to page two. The top 8 organic and the top 2 paid ads were not blurred.

Is this some sort of experimental mobile testing by Google to see what people click on page one if they have no choice BUT the top 8 and the top ads?

Weird stuff, folks.

Nothing blurry on my side. Just some "app" sugestions based on my search (for example: auto tests).

It only came up the one time so far, making me wonder is it isn't part of some test...

I think it could be caused by a virus on your phone if you're using rooted Android.

Nope, its not a virus and I'm not on a rooted Android.

I've never encountered such a situation, but now I'm curious. Do you have a screenshot that you can post here or can you tell us what you searched?

Are you using Firefox for Android by any chance? If so, try changing browsers. Mine did something similar.

I am as well. I didn't take a screen shot and have not been able to get Google to deliver the blurred content again. It happened on a Sumsung Android mobile phone though, so it essentially was a Google platform... but it was using Firefox Mobile not Chrome so it was delivered from the Google website not my browser.

That's strange. Are you sure that your connection wasn't interrupted, causing the page to only partially load? I could have sworn I had a mobile browser that loaded pages like that (it was either Opera, Firefox, or Dolphin).
