Yep, another Amazon niche site journey.

I'll try to make this short and simple;

About me:

Sex: Male,
From: Denmark,
Age: 16

Previous experiences:
Been trying a few methods here and there. My first experience with the Internet Marketing world occured, when I was 12 years old.
During numerous years of breaks and trying out methods, I've made only around $200 ish, but it was a decent sum of money, when I was younger.
I remember earning like $40 during a one month period with only 4 hours work. I was 13 at that point, and it was a big succes for me, but sadly I was lazy and the method faded away, and was no longer working.
Other than that I've just been trying out methods with social media and other stuff but nothing worthy to talk about.

My plan:

I've always been a fan of SEO, because it's always seemed like a real challenge, and something that requires a clever mindset.
After reading many, many threads, I've come to the conclusion that I'll give Amazon a try.
My long term plan might change throughout the journey, and my short term method will be described in the next post.
Keep in mind that I'm a newbie, who is pretty much starting from scratch, and pay attention to my newest posts for the latest updates.

Update 1 - week 1, day 1:

Current plan:

Tomorrow I'll be picking my niche. I've already got a 4 month old domain indexed on Google, and I expect to be using that.
I've already picked a theme, but I'm unsure if it's the right one.
I've chosen ProReview theme (here's a preview of an example: http://themespotter.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/pro-review-2.png)
I might change it to another theme, maybe the one that Hekke shows in his guide. It's not a big deal for now.

After picking my niche and roughly setting up the website, the real work will start.
I will be writing all of the articles myself, and no outsourcing will be used... BUT... I will definitely begin outsourcing, if this turns out to be a succes.
I believe my English skills are capable of creating perfect content, and I love trying to fit in keywords in my articles.

My plan is primarily short term based, because I can't predict the future, and I don't want to have a long term plan already, as I'm still a newbie.

I will explain more later, and feel free to ask anything you'd like to know.

This thread is meant as an interactive diary, where we hopefully can help each other out.

Goodluck on journey, will be interesting to read and learn.
Planning on doing a niche site too.

Hi OP focus on right now not on the future. The future will care of its self.

good luck, wish i started at 16, you have everything ahead of you and your english looks very good indeed

Busy looking for a niche...
I came by "humidifier", "air purifiers" and "oil diffusers" and several other products on Amazon.
I looked them up on keyword planner, but all of the keywords had high competition...
So far I'm really struggling to find a niche with low competition. At least I got some inspiration from other Amazon review websites :).

There are tones of amazon keywords with 7 to 15 competitions... In fact, if you spend hours searching for keywords, you will eventually find one.

Good luck with your journey!

I hope you are not looking at the Adwords competition, because that shows the competition if you were to advertise on that term.

You should not have a keyword tool show you the competition, rather, learn it yourself and you will have a easier time finding a solid niche. Most keyword tools have made up a metric that is usually so far off it can be - so it is better to learn it yourself and look at the sites ranking.

Also, better not share what niche you plan to enter as this place is filled with potential competitors.

Good luck!

that's really good age dude!
keep running!
you can be the next dot com millionaire !

Oh, I feel stupid now, haha.
So by finding out the competition myself, is to basicly just search for the main keyword and look at the top ranked sites?
I'm just not sure how I can rate the niche's competition, because I don't know how many other Amazon websites in the niche is considered as high/medium/low competition..?
Good luck, looking forward to see your success!
Thanks, I'm looking forward to it as well.

Maybe ;) I do have a goal to get 1 million DKK sleeping in my bank before I turn 19.
1 million DKK is approx 150k USD, so that should be realistic.

Update:
Not much has been done, I've been struggling to find a niche. It's so hard for me to find a proper one :( I'm thinking about just choosing a really broad niche and have a bunch of "smaller niches" inside. Like the "Home" niche, and then promote chairs, lamps and tons of different things related to the niche. It might be a little difficult but no problem.

Sadly, my Amazon account has been banned and their reason is that my account was related to other closed accounts. I have no idea why this happened.
The worst thing is that I just found 2 great opportunities to generate a few sales but I can't try it out, because I'm banned.
If anyone wants to do a little Joint Venture then hit me up with a PM. It's really simple, you give me the links for the products (only 5 products) and then I promote them. It's possible that we could generate some sales almost instantly.

I'm trying to get accepted into another Affiliate network after seeing other people succeed with it.

UPDATE:
Okay, so since my account was closed on Amazon, I've chosen to use ClickBank and another affiliate program. It's basicly like Amazon but different providers and products.

Anyways, I've been reading about some more SEO. I've sucked up a lot of nice information over the past days.

Here's my plan:
I've chosen one broad niche, and I will have around 6 smaller niches inside the main niche. I might expand to a few more smaller niches later but not for now.
I will begin writing 1 pillar article for each small niche, and the pillar articles will be informative articles. Inside the pillar articles I will link to my review articles, so the reader might choose to read a review and buy the product, after reading an informative article on the niche. The informative articles will be 2000+ words, and the review articles will be 750-1000 words ish.

My schedule is like this for now:
Write 1 pillar article and 1 review article for the first small niche, write 1 pillar articel and 1 review article for the second small niche... And so on. When I've published 1 pillar article and 1 review article for each small niche, I'll repeat the exact same process. After that is done as well, I'll produce more review articles instead of 1:1.

I might create a new thread and continue there, now that the journey isn't with Amazon anymore.

What did Amazon say when you called them?

They don't close accounts for no reason and when you call them they'll give you a more specific answer. It's not hard to get your account reinstated as long as you weren't scamming.
