1) is there any blogpot blog which is really populer?
2) why matt cutts use wordpress?

I personally think that BlogSpot is not as good as wordpress. I have never really been impressed with BlogSpot. I don't even know what ones would be popular as I am not much of a fan of it,

Use paid hosting instead. Way more better idea. Btw I choose bs.

Get your own domain for as little as $3, and hosting for as little as $10/year. Use blogs only for 2.0 linking. Always go for Wordpress. Blogspot is almost dead.

1. I've seen popular Blogspot blogs in the past, although I can't think of any off the top of my head.

2. Because he likes it.

"Matt Cutts, also uses WordPress platform for his personal blog, and he mentioned that Blogger is good for new users, and very simple to get started, and for casual blogging it’s fantastic. WordPress gives you more power, and you can customize it according to your need."

I think you should go with a paid web hosting and Wordpress. It is more stable and professional.

Matt Cutts uses that because he promotes the company where he's working - Google :D

If you can afford wordpress go with wordpress but blogspot is great to start out with $0. Blogger has many limitations but there are many ways around them so don't let anything stop you from doing what you'd like to do.

There are a few popular blogspot blogs. Postsecret was a blogspot blog for a while but they eventually changed. I think there is a way to export your blog these days so switching over should not be so hard.

Here is a list here of a bunch of popular ones as of 2012.

The first question you have to answer is "Does it worth to save that $100 per month, and to start a free blog, instead of buying a domain name, a web hosting, and starting your own standalone blog".

There are a lot of popular blogs on blogger, but there are way more popular standalone blogs on the Web.

If you plan on making money from your blog, and want to have much more functionality on your site, I suggest you go with a self-hosted Wordpress blog (very simple to learn) rather than go with the .com route.
Remember there are two different forms of Wordpress: .com and .org. And they each have their own communities that would support their own qualities. On BHW I think you will find most people supporting .org just as I have done.

as far as i am concerned both are good, the way you implement and how it looks and how matter you are giving , how often you are updating that is the matter

Blogger is known for deleting accounts / blogs for spammy activity.

Overall for Internet Marketers Wordpress is much better. It also ranks higher over any other platform, has loads of open source plugins & features + boasts quality.

If you're just starting try getting access to Wordpress so value isn't lost if you dropped Blogger overnight for an upgrade.

Yes, the blog may be so popular, if it is maintained in a right way. Another major advantage is that Google 1st crawl within its account links. From this, it will popular as much as possible.

Matt cutts use Wordpress for the following some reasons:

In Google point of view, underscores in URLs are now or soon treated as word separators.
URL file extension won’t affect rankings, but don't .exe
Google does not care about the number of slashes in a URL
In Google point of view, underscores in URLs are now or soon treated as word separators.
Title Plugin is used to swap the blog title name with the post titles name.

Find free host and you can find the easily search lirrle BHW and use Worpress.

simply because Matt Cuts afraid to be banned in blogspot... lol

I highly recommend using WordPress, just for all of the plugins and seo friendliness.
