Blogspot Blogs Taking Longer To Rank?

Quick questions for you guy's who are currently ranking blogspot blogs...

I have not ranked a blogspot blog in over 2 years (I've been sticking to normal domains) but I recently tried to rank a new blogspot blog for testing purposes about 5-6 day's ago. Now, with normal sites, I usually see them appear within 3 day's (Im using very powerful links) but with blogspot It's been five day's and I haven't seen it remotely appear in the top 300 (Yes the blog is indexed with 100% unique hand written content).

So my sole question is, from your experience, how long does it usually take a blogspot blog to show up even in the top 300? Also, is it normal for blogspot blogs to take a bit longer to rank ? 2 Years ago, I know for a fact that they use to rank in about the same time frame as a normal site but I don't know if things have changed since then.

PS: Yes I did use the search function and the only thread giving me an ETA was: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/588467-case-study-wordpress-vs-blogspot.html but I would still like to hear from others as well.

blogspots takes a long time to rank for me. Don't know the reason to be honest. For domains, I usually get to top 50 in 2 days but with blogspot it takes atleast a week.

blogspots rank nicely.. idk what your doing wrong. A few people here including myself have been ranking them conveniently. Don't need much to rank those.

I know they will rank eventually but what i'm curious about is how long did it take you before the initial rank occurred?

Recently I posted this http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/white-hat-seo/673140-blogger-post-not-indexing.html which outlined what I did. Bottom line had to do with my blogspot account. It must have been under some ban. I deleted the blog and put the content on a WP domain and it indexed within a few hours if I recall.

Indexing does not seem to be a problem, the blogs and the post got indexed within 60 minutes of the blog/post creation not to mention I made 3 more blogs (all are located on 3 different gmail accounts that I use on a day to day) and all of their content are indexed as well. It's the actual ranking that I am concerned about.

I have never had problem indexing my blogspot blogs , the indexing happens within hours... imo easier to rank as well!!

from 5 days up to 30. blogspots rank easily for light stuff but for hard they wont rank at all.

"How long it takes to rank" totally depends on your keyword and kind of links you are using.

But i am still seeing people ranking their blogs in 1-2 weeks for low-medium competition keywords.

There are a lot of things on which your ranking will depend. The competition of the KW, previous blacklisting of the blog you are using, etc. Generally they are ranked within a week, but sometimes it takes more time (a month or more).

They rank for low competitive keyword but for High competitive keyword its hard to rank them.

Thanks for the reply's guy... With the info provided I can at least have a ball park figure. I might just leave blogspot alone, back in 2012 if im not mistaken they use to rank fairly quickly. Anyway, I have 3-4 blogs which were all created at the same time for some very easy keywords. Once they appear I'll update this thread indicating how long it took for each blog to show up with their initial ranking.

It is not that they do not rank. They do rank but takes some time. A friend of mine has ranked for quite competitive KW's and outranked established brands with a blogspot blog.

With blogspot its random, sometimes you rank, sometimes you don't.

I totally agree with this. :) Sometimes even though you posted a 100% unique article, Google assign higher rankings to blogs that meet certain quality criteria for grammar, frequency of updates, length of posts and backlinks, overusing keywords also affects a blog ranking.

Just an update, the blogs started to show after 7 days...

So compared to a normal site, they took about 7 days to start initially ranking for their keywords.

Use Churn and Burn method, your blog blog will rank fast, but eventually it will get penalised :)
