Has anyone else had this problem when installing BlogSolution?:

When I install, it gets to the point where it says:
Creating default templates, cache directories, system files, getting icecream ingredients, cooking chocolate..
And then the page stops loading. It successfully creates all of the SQL tables, but index.php still redirects to the installer.

Any help would be appreciated! If you need any more info about my setup, please let me know.

Assume you are using a nulled and dezendded one.
you can alternatively download a cracked version, it provide higher stability.

you have to goto the login page, which i forget what it is at the moment, it is something like manage/index.php

Something like that, I know it is manage...Just look it up in your directory.

Nope. :( Still not working.

Error: 0: Connection failed to the host .

The BlogSolution is not installed

I can create blog but when I click on each blog ,I got this

Not Found
The requested URL /blogs/blog name/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

And then I go to FTP files, BS don't create directory or any files.
What I need to do?

I've tried everything I can think of and it still hangs at the same point. I've installed it locally, and it works fine and the install finishes. So, it must be something with my host. They have enabled wildcard DNS for me with no questions asked in the past as well as this time, and I can't find any other obvious problems. Permissions are set correctly (except a minor problem (or maybe it is THE problem) where all files created by BlogSolution are owned by the "nobody" user, which is the username that the host's Apache install runs under. Unfortunately, I don't think it would be possible to change it.)

I've emailed my host to see if they can provide any insight.

Would running BlogSolution under a VPS be better?

when you copied the files to your host via FTP, did you make sure the transfer was in BINARY mode, and NOT auto or ascii? ive had strange things happen if i forget to make it binary on installs sometimes

Yeah, it was all uploaded in binary, I've tried reuploading 3 times so far :(
Ugh! *stumped*

Same problem here theprovider777. Been pulling my hair out all day.

Yeah, on the forums there are a few threads with the same or similar problem, but they either have no answer, or Omar says he can't find out the problem without full access to their hosts. :(

Theprovider, it may have looked like it didn't install when in fact it may have. Go to yourdomain.com/manage/index.php and you should be able to continue with the install. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same problem as you, after the install is complete (well after you get to step 3 and it just stops) i go to /manage/index.php and create a few blogs, etc. But whenever i try to view them, it keeps trying to take me back to /manage/install.php (which i've tried deleting along with sql.txt as it says in their install docs, and also tried leaving it in, makes no difference).

Also when i view it in FTP, no directories or files are created. However in the Operations centre (/manage/index.php) all my posts and blogs r there, and i can add/edit/delete.

Did you get it going in the end?

I needed PHP5 enabled on my server account, which you can do yourself in cpanel.

hi everybody, tried to intall to...it creates the database tables...everything ist fine since i got to step three.. when i call manage/index.php then, i always got the error...

Error: 0: Connection failed to the host .

The BlogSolution is not installed

bute it acutally created the tables in the database. Already tried to upload all files in binary mode...same error, tried to grant mysql user for db access all privileges, same error again...using plesk und vps...anyone had same problem before and knows an answer? Worked on it for three day, just before deciding to jump out of the window :/ Support forums don't have an answer....

Same problem here...The script doesn't create any directory

All

I finally got it working after experiencing all the same problems.

You need to be running it with PHP 5

add this line to your .htaccess file at the top

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 .php

and then upload in ASCII format NOT Binary.

When you try to install you may get the message "Zend Optimizer Not installed".

Talk to your host to make sure Zend Optimizer is installed for you. When they sort that out baddabing....no more hanging on the ingredients screen and completes the install.

Worked for me anyway (after about 4 days of trying!)

Hope this helps

Chris
