Blogging is picking up a certain niche, finding questions in that niche that people search on Google, making sure there is a reasonable number of other bloggers (if there're too many of them, your chances of getting visitors go down) answering the same questions, writing great blog posts that answer the questions in detail and publishing them on your website.

Repeat the steps consistently until your website receives visitors every day. Once you have readers, you can start thinking about monetization. For me, there are two legit ways of monetizing niche blogs.

1. Showing ads. You sign up on ad networks and they will show ads on your website related to your niche. If you write about cars - they will show automobile-related ads. You will get paid depending on the number of visitors your website has.

2. Affiliate. You find product manufacturers in your niche (again, if you write about cars - you can go for tire manufacturers, etc.), and make a deal with them. You put their products inside your articles as "recommendations" to your readers and if your readers go and buy from that manufacturer - you'll get paid.

Personal Blogs are written to share opinions, thoughts, information and experience. Business Blogs are written for marketing any product or service and make money out of it.
Bloggers publish unique and engaging content consistently. When the blog gains more traffic, they start earning money through affiliate marketing, by selling ad space and selling their own products and services.

If you are just starting out with blogging, and you want to grow fast without wasting time, use the social media to promote your blog

Blogs work in a fairly straightforward way.

You find keywords that people are searching for.

This is the first step.

This is also the step that most people overlook.

You have to build your blog on concerns and queries that already have existing demand.

People must be already searching for the stuff that you will publish.

This is another step people often overlook.

This is a prime example of a question that should be ignored.. not only is there way more than an ample amount of information in this form alone to answer that question if you just take the second to search, but a simple Google search will yield you quite literally millions of pages of results.

If if you can't be bothered to perform a simple Google search, you are unlikely to be bothered to come up with new unique and useful blog posts very regularly and publish them..
