Blogging

You could start a blog on a free for very low cost platform plus a domain name for under $50USD. You could get into a good host and a domain for under $200USD/yr and use a fairly low cost wordpress theme to build out a site for less than $100USD.

That assumes you intend to use your time to learn effective design and seo principles to build out the site and then handle your own link building and other practices to drive traffic to the site. If you want to pay for these functions, costs go up. Buying a fully developed and decently seo optimized site can run you anywhere from $500-5000USD.

If you are going to develop a site with wordpress or another CMS IMO it's worth learning for yourself. It's never been easier to build nice looking wordpress sites, especially with the built in block editor. Build a handful of template pages and just replicate them with different text and graphics.

How much does is it cost to start a new blog?
It depends on your skill set.

For example, if you have experience as a web designer/developer you might not invest anything in that. If you have experience as a writer, you might not need to outsource this, if you have experience conducting keyword research and anything related to it, the same thing.

Nowadays, you can start a blog for REALLY cheap and start making money with it but it depends on the factors I mentioned above and so many others.

I wrote a guide on another forum as to how to start a blog with less than $200 but I can´t share it here but, here are your biggest expenses...

Hosting ($26.16) - Namecheap

For this, I recommend Namecheap. Not because I think is one of the best but is one of the most affordable and that is actually pretty decent.

True, is a shred account but I´ve used Namecheap and it´s pretty decent for the price and features...

Domain - Namesilo or Porkbun ($10-$15)

These are my two preferred domains registered on the market.

Why?

They have some of the lowest rates for both new domains and renewals on the market.

Themes and Plugins - BHW or Festinger´s Vault

Most of these you can get it there for free here in the Members Download area and, if by any chance you can´t find it or hasn´t been shared here, well, Festinger´s Vault is the place for you.

But, these are my choices when it comes to themes and plugins...

Keyword Research ($10)

This is where it gets interesting as there are many options available on the market for you. This makes it easier for you to find an option that best fits your needs, requirements, and budget.

If you´re on a budget, I highly recommend Keywords Everywhere.

Why?

It´s fairly accurate in its estimations when it comes to keywords' monthly search volume and it´s one of the most affordable tools on the market.

For $10 you can purchase 100,000 credits which will be more than enough for you to work with. I´ve purchased those same 100,000 credit plans twice this year and I still have like 45,000 credits to go :D :P

If you have a medium-sized budget I recommend you to check these keyword tools...

Keyword Cupid
Keyword Chef - I was amazed by this one

...if you have enough budget, you can always try the biggest SEO tools on the market like Ahrefs and SEMrush.

Content Development

This is where the biggest investment of both your time and money will be focused on. Of course, as mentioned above, if you have experience as a writer or consider yourself to be an excellent writer, you can save yourself potentially thousands of dollars as most decent writers will cost you anywhere around $0.03 to $0.10 per word.

For a 1,000-word article, we´re talking about anywhere between $30 and $100. So, if you´re serious about this, you should focus on publishing at least a couple of hundred articles which could translate into an investment of $5,000 to $20,000 or even more!

You can always leverage the power of AI writing tools to speed up this process and lower the cost but make sure to invest as much time as you can in proofreading, editing, and fact-checking everything before hitting the publish button.

So, if you follow my recommendations, you would have spent less than $50!!

Not taking into account your expenses in the content development (as I don´t know if you´re going to outsource this or will you be writing your own content) and, content promotion!

But, as you can see, you can start your blogging journey for cheap.

I hope this helps, cheers!!

You can start a blog for free easily through quite a few sites such as wordpress, wix, etc. You'll have to pay for additionals such as your domain, hosting, etc.

You can start a blog for even lower than 10 bucks depending on the type of domain, hosting, and the discount you get.

How much does is it cost to start a new blog?

Just a domain (something about $15 a year) and a cheapest virtual hosting (preferably some VDS). There are many for just about $4 a month or so. Thus the price will be mot more than a couple of craft beer packs ;)

For some blogs, the domain cost itself is $20000 or more.
Right, with Google update every month I would not suggest you buy a domain for 20k and start blogging.
But if you are a well established pbn network it's different story. You will want to buy one and even at 50k if all requirement parameters are correct.

If you can spare more or less 15 bucks for a domain and you already have a hosting account, which can set you back a hundred bucks a year, you're set!

The great thing about setting up a new blog is that the main content management engine you will use to easily publish stuff online is free.

I'm talking, of course, about WordPress.

In fact, a lot of hosting accounts make WordPress installation so quick and easy that you can get a WordPress blog up after a few keystrokes and mouse clicks.

That's how quick, easy, and convenient putting up a new blog is.

And here's the best part.

If you decide to come up with another blog after you have put up your new blog and you already have a hosting account, your new blog will only set you back the price of your domain name.

That's it!

So if you use a domain registrar that charges 11 to 15 bucks, then that's how much the new blog will cost.

At the end of the day, you shouldn't focus on the amount of dollars you shell out.

Instead, you should focus on the amount of time you devote to your project.

Your time is your most important asset.

The more focused you are, the more effort you put into your blog, and the higher the chance it will be successful.

By effort, I'm talking about finding the right niche, finding and executing the right content creation strategy, and doing outreach, so other related blogs in your niche would link back to you.
