Will blogging alone, to provide the crawlers with fresh content, help to improve my ranking? I ask because it is my understanding that if people do not comment, link or share what I post, then the post won't help with ranking. Am I correct in my thinking that my ranking won't improve much if I add a blog to a site and just throw some content up?

With blogging alone, I made it to the top of google for my targeted keywords. Even if people don't comment or share the blog post. You just have to use an authority blog like Empower Network, which costs $25 a month.

One of the best ways of off page optimization in SEO is blogging.A blogger is responsible for the web site promotion,if he/she is the blogger.Blog with the fresh content can make increase the site page rank.A blog with appropriate content as well as suitable image really helps a lot in website promotion.As much as the blog is attractive & well furnished with necessary items,that attracts more no of visitors.Along with that the site page rank automatically increases.
Blogging works good to familiarize a site. It makes peoples interested about it's content. If even it's not shared, a fraction of guys hit the link and traffic improved. You can post websites in social bookmarking site. Register and Log-in . After you log-in you can post the link of your blog that specify the URL, Title, Description and tags. Absolutely it will. Blogging and keeping it updated often is the way to not only increase rankings, but to increase return visitors. Don't bother using fake spun crap except for tier 3 linking. Focus on quality content that will retain viewership.
