you can make money on any niche, you just need the time and effort
 
To make money in an already saturated niche you need a couple of things:

1. Expertise in the niche, so as to create awesome content
2. Some base capital to invest in traffic generation activities
3. Patience, and persistence
4. Decent knowledge of SEO

If you have these, every niche, however, saturated it is can be used to make a profit. Goodluck with your venture OP.

It depends on the niche and how you monetize if you will only monetize with Google Adsense or another ad network it might not be so great, but if you do affiliate marketing, well you can earn a lot of money from it.

Agree with this. The first year after Adsense was released I earned 80 grand off it. The next year everything went off the rails for that site due to algorithm changes in both google search and Adsense. Made the swtch to affiliate promotions and doing well again. Nothing like that first year, but doing well.

If your willing to pay the price for something there isn't anything you can't have or make happen. Even if a market is saturated you can still get into it and earn a profit. It will take time, effort, energy, and down right grit because it is saturated, and dominating the market requires a serious commitment, but it can be done. It's obviously going to take more effort than a niche that is considered to have tons of low hanging fruit etc.... Blogging will stay for some time because it's personal and allows each person to provide a unique perspective on a topic.
