Blogger to .com Domain, Help !

I have a blog in blogger.com , usually like xya.blogspot.com

It's getting traffic and I am thinking to move it to a domain. My question is that the blog pages are already ranking, Will there be any effect in the ranking if I put up a domain in that blog? Obviously it will be a 301 redirect.

I will be using this option that is already present in the blogger site (check the attachment). Suggest me how to proceed. I am new to blogger, have used wordpress only.

As for effecting your rankings, it most likely will. So create some new backlinks or buy a package from one of the well respected sellers here on BHW and your website will be fine within the SERP's.

I don't want to transfer it to wordpress... I just want to replace the xyz.blogspot.com to xyz.com.

This will affect the rankings but with a domain it will look more professional. otherwise, Blogger blogs are great for ranking.

Mentioning again.. I will be using the blogger option that allows me to use a custom domain. Looking for someone who has done it.

Yes definitely that is the page where you will enter your own domain if you want to redirect your xyz.blogspot.com to xyz.com.

It is going to effect your rankings. That is a certainty. Redirect your backlinks (or anything pointing to xyz.blogspot.com to xyz.com), and you will not be hit as hard.

just add a domain it will do a 301 automatically .

Yeah, Blogger has a 301 redirection to them already the xyz.blogspot.com will be allotted to you only just when traffic will come it will be transferred to xyz.com.

I don't think you might see any changes in Ranking.

You can use your custom domains with Blogger without losing your traffic or rankings. just search for the step by step tutorials and you should be able to do it in few minutes..

I was thinking the same as it will be doing a 301, so I guess It shouldn't be getting any ranking changes. Thanks for the suggestions. More suggestions are welcomed.
