Blogger or Wordpress (Help)

Hello guys, I hope all of you are doing fine, I need some advice in determining if I stay on blogger or if I move into wordpress.
I have a spanish news site, which in average gets 1million page views a month.

In 3 months I have gained over $4,300 with the website but I want something more professional. Also I don't know if I'm doing something wrong with the SEO but in those 3 months I haven't got a lot of visits from search engines.

What I like of Blogger is that I don't have to pay depending of the visits I have, but there are no good plugins. If you think Wordpress would be better for me can you give me some advice? or some good hosts that can hold that number of views?

First congratulations for having a site that is making that much money in Spanish (have some sites on spanish and don't make that much).

Migrating to another platform is a huge hustle and only must be done if you have a really good reason.
I understand that Wordpress have better themes overall and more plugins but... do you really need them?

I advice most people to have under 10 plugins on Wordpress, and probably all those plugins are covered by Blogger functionality. So if you really don't have a good reason for migrating just stay in Blogger, your site is performing great.
 
Migrating to Wordpress from Blogger will leave you vulnerable since there's a chance you could lose your rankings and income. Someone on here may say that you should stop using Blogger since you do not "own the website". While this is true, Google does not terminate every and any Blogger website unless you do something silly like keyword stuffing. If you really want to switch, find a good web host with a lot of uptime for your website, find a theme that is similar to your Blogger website (just so your visitors arrive to a familiar website), transfer your content (don't worry about duplicate content since you will be moving your domain), and then switch the domain. This is what I did with one of my websites and I didn't lose my rank at all (in fact, my website is ranking even better than before).
 
Migrating to wordpress is really advisable from Me, but if you're not comfortable staying on blogger, you can pretty much move over to wordpress
 
My suggestion is yes go for WP, as it looks more professional than blogger. Also there is always risk of Google angerness, as you don't control over the hosting and db backups.

I see so many threads about Blogger vs Wordpress here on Black Hat World. In this case, however, OP was asking if migrating to Wordpress would be a good option for their website even though the OP already has an established website that is making money on Blogger. OP was asking if Wordpress would benefit their website because of the plugins, not a general "which one is better: Wordpress or Blogger" question, so I'm willing to give OP a pass on this one. :)

You could keep the blog as it is and make a new site relevent to your visitors using wordpress and link to it from your blog. Just an idea, ive never migrated a site in such a way so i cant advise on that.

I remember that I was one of those people who did not want to migrate to Wordpress from Blogger (I do not like change), although it's been almost 4 months and I can say that switching to Wordpress was the best decision I made for my website. Although, I was not making as much as OP with my Blogger website (nor did I have much traffic), so switching to Wordpress was fairly simple.
 
I think with a site making that much you should leave it where it is. It it ain't broke don't fix it!
 
Get yourself a VPS or Dedicated Server. Install Wordpress on it.

Profit.
 
I think you should not migrate now as you are earning a good amount from this website. Once you migrate from Blogger to Wordpress there are chances that you loose the current traffic.

I agree with gordop.
I have a wordpress blog and I'm quite satisfied with it too, easy to use and there are many themes to choose.

Thanks for the tips! I'm looking for a good host! I want to have a better SEO and I think wordpress is better for that
 
honestly stay where you are.
make the move to self hosted wordpress - but consider it expanding/scaling/diversifying.
no reason to break something that is working, figure out the minimum effort to keep it there and spend every other second on new ventures :)
 
Hey guys! thanks all for the tips and for replying! just so you know most of my traffic comes from facebook, which I'm going to still have if I move my site to Wordpress, the thing is that I'm not getting a lot of traffic from search engines.

Now I have another problem. Google Adsense have blocked my ads because of lack of unique content so now I'm starting my website from 0 so I think now is a good oportunity to move into wordpress.. If anyone knows about a good host for Wordpress I'll be grateful!
