I am looking to start some sites and rank them for Adsense income. I have read several times that Blogger.com blogs rank well in Google (because it is managed by Google), a high rank means more clicks meaning more income right? My alternative is a manual wordpress.org blog with customs themes and plugins hosted externally. I would love to have some advice from any of you concerning this issue, as I really am leaning towards Blogger now to become my main source of income. Considering this is quite a decision I would like to ask for your opinions, thanks in advance!

2 years ago I experimented with that. Made 2 exact match blogs, one on wordpress, another on blogger. The content was different, but covered the same topics. No backlinks whatsoever.

Wordpress was above blogger.

Wordpress blog. Then create a unique article on Blogger and link it to the Wordpress blog. ;)

Thanks for the quick responses guys! I've read about some SEO blueprints here indeed showing that blogger.com and other Web 2.0's are good for backlinking. Thanks a lot!

So wordpress is better than blogger when ranking on google? Even though Blogger(google).

I'm doing an experiment where I start out a website in Blogger, than after 6 months I'm going to transfer all the content to a Wordpress based site, but keep the SEO identical. I think this will have a few unseen advantages ;)

Definitely Wordpress because of the ease of use and organization with regards to the layout, coding, and just general look of it :)

However note that the free wordpress blogs i feel are not as customizable as the free blogger blogs.

With regards to tier 1 and 2, etc i recommend using both as they diversifies the tier profile n footprints.

Hope this helps in your adsense journey! good luck! :D

Wordpress, hands down. I mean if you want, have both. No harm should come from it, maybe just some extra effort.

I use both From My Experience only advance on wordpress is customization you can add .
The advance of blogger that you get fastest web hosting for free no wary about downtime site speed hacking etc .
But If you want to use wordpress look for Ad injection Plugins it jump CTR to 6% even more .

Thanks a lot guys, I've already built my site and posted 5 premade articles, still looking for a wordpress theme though, anyone know some with good CTR?

I think Google consider blogger an other blogging platform as same.

If you need to start blog on wordpress.org, you have to spend few $$. Also wp blogs has more freedom than blogger. But you can reduce cost by purchasing shared host. I don't recommended to use a free hosting.

Also you can reduce cost by purchasing domain name from blogger. (First register on blogger, purchase custom domain for $10 and use that custom domain on wordpress). It will give full privacy protection free of charge.

There are great customization, SEO plugins on wp.

I also stared blogging on blogger. Later I moved to wordpress.org.

If you can't spend money, its OK start from blogger. But you don't have much freedom on blogger.

Both are developing and advancing day by day. But in my personal opinion I prefer WordPress Blog. WordPress has many useful plugins that help you do the specific work and it makes your work much easier. However, Blogger is a good choice for those who are just getting started with blogging. Just want to leave a quote, "Success does not only depend on the platform you choose but on what you do."

Wordpress has more options to customize, but as usual where the content is good, the site will be good, I would go with WP, though

I personally don't like to have blogger sites because it owned by big G and some times they de-indexed or remove these sites with out a good reason. I suggest you to go for a Self hosted Wordpress blog + Exact Math Domain + Quality content and it will rank well on Google, if you can't spend much for hosting hostgator shared hosting will be best for you.
