Hey everyone, so Blogger deleted my blog, due to SPAM.

I had very few links pointing to the blog, I had links from one forum signature where I posted occasionally, and from a few other places here and there, facebook, twitter, google+ etc... But nothing large, nothing in the thousands of links.

It was a "make money online" type of blog, and it was getting better. I had 11 or 12 articles on it, I think. I was getting some traffic from google and from social media mostly. So I had the adfly entry script on the blog. And the links in my articles were referral links for whatever site I was reviewing in that post, shortened with adfly. Images (2-3 per post) had href with a referral link shortened with adfly as well. Each article was a Review of 1 website where one could make money online, you know, PTC/GPT sites, microjobs, surveys, stuff like that. On the sidebar and footer I had banners with my ref links of various PTC/GPT sites shortened with adfly, so that was my other monetization, those few referrals I was getting.

I was doing a decent job with the SEO I believe, fixed the Heading (h1-h6) tags for the simple template, redirected all entries to arrive on the .com extension rather than their native .in or .it or whatever. ALL my links were nofo11ow, except one in the sidebar, and I think I also left the social media buttons hrefs as nofo11ow, I can't remember for sure. Each post had images alt + title tags, optimized URL, meta description, additional h tags apart from the h1 post title and h2 blog title, a few h3 and h4 tags I'd insert in each article manually.

It was going alright, I had a facebook page for it as well. I still have it, that is...

So last month I decided to leave it alone for the whole month with barely any promotion or any links shared or nothing, and it made around 12 cents from adfly and I got a couple of referrals here and there. Hey, it was better than the month before that, so it was getting better as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway, it was really exciting too, I put in some work, it was making profit literally on autopilot...

And just as i was planning to write some more reviews and stuff and see what happens, Boom, Blog deleted due to Spam... From what I read after, apparently blogger doesn't like "make money online" blogs very much... And mine was very much... :D

I guess now I understand when people comment on this forum about how you should never use free blogging platforms for any serious site you want to make money with because you don't own anything there (no such thing as a free ride) and your blog along with your content could be deleted at any moment.

So I guess it's time to use that 3 year hosting i got 6 months ago on hostgator, time to get serious!

And by the way, I had original articles on that blog, I did use a translated review as a stepping stone to making my articles, so I'd translate from a different language I know, and then I'd heavily edit it, test for changes and whether the information was correct (payment processors removed/added? No more forum, referral commissions changed, that kind of stuff. So the posts were original, I even passed them through copyscape to test for authenticity before posting them, and they were all clean. So it's not a "stolen content" issue, my articles, my work.

Anyway, blog's gone, I've written everything that came to mind at the moment about the blog. I had/have still probably alexa ranking of around 6,500,000. I'm not sure how "good" is that, but I guess better than the 14.000.000 where I was a few months ago, haha...

Here's the cached version of the blog, I don't know for how long it's going to be up, at least I get to save my articles, and I have a 2 month old copy of the blog, in XML format I believe.

http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...m/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=rs&client=firefox-a

!!!NOTE!!! There is the adfly entry script that I had on the blog, and apparently it still shows in the cached version, and I CANNOT remove it because my blog has been deleted and I don't have access to it from my Blogger dashboard!!!NOTE!!!

So I'm sorry about that, I can't do anything about it... I just hope some of you can learn something from it, either someone trying to figure out how to not have their blog's deleted, or a beginner trying to decide between free blogging platforms and buying hosting, whatever, that's the story.

So, if anyone actually sees the blog, or judging on the story, what do you think, why is the blog gone? I liked the goddamn blog! :google2:

Screw hosting your content on blogger or any other 3rd party platform.

If I were you, I would take all of that content and switch it over to your own domain. This literally wouldn't take you long at all and it would solve your problem.

I actually bought what I believe to be a nice .com domain together with a 3 year hosting plan at hostgator a few months ago, on the black friday 90% or something discount... And I've been planning to either start from scratch or move my content there anyway, but i was being reluctant and putting it off because i have ZERO experience with Wordpress, Zero.. But with blogger I have A Lot of experience, so I kept putting it off...

I guess it's time to get on it... I already installed wordpress with some free template with my domain name on the hostgator hosting a few months ago, so my website has actually already been indexed. There are no posts on it, nothing...

Time to no longer put that off and just do it. I assure you it's extremely easy to get your first wordpress site set up. And since your site is already indexed, just start adding content and you'll probably start ranking for some long tails before you know it.

Yeah, thanks man.

I wonder if I can somehow import the articles from the saved file of blogger I have automatically into the wordpress site somehow... And then, do I mention that "these articles had been originally posted at blogger at blahblah.blogspot.com on date etc etc? Because those articles are unique, and I'm not sure if anyone has copied them and reposted them elsewhere, but what if someone has and one day I get whatever issues because someone claims i stole the articles from them or something? I wasn't worried about that until now because on my blog I had Dates that would prove that they were first posted by me, but now the cat is out of the bag with transfering them elsewhere... So many potential issues...

I did have the thing where users couldn't select the text from my blog, so I'm hoping it prevented theft :p

You are worrying way to much about things that will work themselves out.

Just use copyscape on your articles and see if they have been published elsewhere. Chances are they haven't been, but if so, then do your best to contact the person using them and say you are threatening to open a civil lawsuit for copyright infringment. This should only take a few minutes of your time, and then you need to move on.

Good Luck.

Good luck. It looks like you were well on your way with this blog too. If the content has been stolen just respin it. :)

Well, I'm not from America, so I'm not sure how easy it would be to open a civil lawsuit against anyone. I know, it's just empty threats, but I like to be able to back up my threats, ahahaha :D

Thanks man, I guess you're right about that, I worry too much...

Yeah, I believe it was going good with minimum effort put in. Although I did create everything there, the gadgets, the banners, I put in all the codes and fixed every issue that arised with the codes, and the numbered navigation, and the thing that opens on top with the social media buttons, i did put work into it, and now it's gone, just like that, gone with the wind :lame:

well that shit happens when you dont want to spend any money for your own domain and hosting. I hope you learned your lesson

I have. Now I understand what the more experienced members mean when they say that free blogging platforms are no good, you have no control. Besides, I wanna build something long term, and I can't have my site deleted at someone else's whim...

And not even a warning or nothing, a reason for it, something...

Blogger has deleted also one of mine blog arguing spam. One blog in that I publish via ifttt the Instagram pics I like for making easy to save it or to post to Pinterest changing the source. No campaigns, no Seo, no traffic driven and only few visits per day. Hard to understand but true. Banned, and as usual, google don't admit my allegations.

That sucks, well, that's a lesson learned for me, it's a good thing. :)

I wonder if free hosting is any better... Right now i'll just use my hosting that i bought, but i wonder in general, is getting some free hosting safer than blogger, weebly, etc?

p.s I haven't tried weebly yet, so I can't sure if they're as paranoid as blogger, but for me they're just in the same ballpark, free blogging platforms, so I just assume it's pretty much the same paranoia... I could be wrong though, don't take my word on it :p

When you are on Third Party Platform your First Fight is against Platform Itself they have the Button to shut you up anytime without giving you the reason
Buy a Decent Domain and work on that With all the Plugins and Custom Domain you will perform Better

Blogger sucks, just get 99c domains and some cheap hosting and you're good to go

Yeah, I have a lot of learning to do now. At least I have paid hosting for 2,5 more years, and I can have as many sites as I want, from what I understood. On Hostgator with the baby plan. However, I also bought the domain name on hostgator and I think it's like $10 per year, and I need to see where I can get some cheaper/free domain names to create a few more sites, just 2-3, and see what happens... Even if it's not a .com it's cool, i want to play around :D

Try one(dot)com one year of free domain and hosting with one click WordPress installation.
