Unique info is best.
Making an "amalgam" of different articles (aka being a curator) is a good way to generate unique/non-unique content.
Repurposing existing content is okay.

You can still make a LOT of money through DIRECT TRAFFIC

Don't worry about SEO if you're just republishing content

However, you might want to make sure you don't run afoul of COPYRIGHT LAW

It's better to get or create unique articles. There are some article re-writer tools available but still, you can't always depend on these tools.

Unique articles are needed . But in your case , you may do better with duplicate contents by using some tips and techniques.

Its not a good idea to get ranking by using used content.
The content will be available on different sites that will get trouble to get traffic on your blog.

Heard about anything in it.

It's allowed , it is not allowed , google will ban you on the long term.

only procam's reply made sense to me.

There is a lot of authority websites with 90% copied content , and all of them I see one thing.

first sentences unique content , middle scrapped content and the end source info and link.

If the big blogs do it, in my opinion must work.
But hey, I'm not a SEO guru so keep searching
