In my opinion, you should go for Unique content, because Google will ban you after update.
what's the unique mean on google's eyes?
for example; changing 1 or 2 words from each sentence; article will be unique?
and what about media objects? photos, videos etc?
Well, you must take care of few things while writing contents for blog, you must have to write your content unique as content is a king and if you write a spam content Google will identify it and then ban your blog.
So, blog without unique content will not provide you any benefits.

Google will do this, Google will do that, Google will do something else---isn't it time we did something about Google? The point of the thread was several of the posters pointed out that you don't have to create unique content for your blog to satisfy Google, if you use other methods to get the traffic, or use a format for presenting duplicated content that Google accepts. Properly curated content won't result in penalty or a ban (although it doesn't give the site much authority, you'll have to figure out how to do that separately). Alternative non-Google (Bing/Yahoo) SEO, combined with several NON search engine ranking-centered methods can totally replace your Google derived traffic, making you free to do what you want to do.
Authority is all about internal linking structure. Copied content, (Curated) being the proper term; are some of the best preforming sites in the SERPS if you're inter-linking using an authority methods.
If you don't know, don't comment on these topics. Spend your time learning..
I might get banned in google, always remember the copy write LAW.
